• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for some help.....Has anyone replaced the seat shock and rear trunk door with something other that a Can am product?

I have seem some comments of people who have taken them to Auto Zone and matched them up by size. Ant Auto parts store should be able to match.

If you are looking for a stronger seat shock for a RT. Sachs SG359011 will work, available from Amazon or EBay. $13-22

Not blowing you off, but recently there was a pretty detailed set of posts regarding the rear trunk gasspring. Not sure what the final outcome was. There was some debate about the aftermarket sizes being wrong and maybe one person did find a source.

As for the seat, over the years there have been topic about the seat gassprings. We no longer use one as the Corbin has a steel strut that flips down.

All the best with it.

For the RT, IIRC, the seat shock is the same as for the Ford Bronco II rear window support strut.

Mine is a 30 lb gas strut that I bought from a local retailer that makes and sell truck canopies. They also have replacement parts like these for the rear windows etc. I replaced mine because I have an Ultimate seat and the stock strut doesn't hold the seat up.
I found 40 lbs too much and that 30 will lift the seat without having to lift it myself.
Mine is made or distributed in Grand Rapids Mi and the shock has a web site printed on it that says www.suspaparts.com .

Ordered 2 of these off your post. One each for mine and my wife RT's. They work great with the heavier Ultimate seats whether the back rest is on or off, up or down. And th 40 lbs force is no problem, even for my wife. In fact feels much more solid.

Thanks for the info!

We did not even use the stock Seat Shock for a couple of years because we had the Corbin Seat on the Bike.
When I put the Mustang Seat on our RT the Shock worked alright for a few months then it was just about done in.
Bought the Back Glass Lift Support SACHS SG359011 from Auto Barn I think from EBay. Works perfectly and is a lot more heavy duty then the stock seat shock.

Be careful not to get one too strong. I have a 2014 RT Limited. Shortly after purchase I got a Denver Sheepskin fitted sheepskin cover. It had a backrest on it when purchased new from Dealer. (DEMO) With the combination the stock gas strut was not strong enough to raise the seat--so purchased a stronger one and had to push medium pressure on it when lowering the seat. After five years the upper strut attachment on the seat (ABS) broke and I am still trying to figure out how to repair it without spending nearly $900 for a new Comfort BRP seat. Actually a simple plastic bottle works well to prop up when refueling.
