• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have read recent posts and am hesitant in planning any sort of trip for my wife and I having heard of the problems incurred by owners of the SE5's. We'v had our shift sensor replaced and have had the 625mi. check up, but what can I expect to go wrong next? It sounds like it is just a matter of time before something else will unexpectunctly put the Spyder back in the shop. (my 625 check up cost me $341 with nothing extra-195for the labor.):dontknow:

It does sound like a disproportionate amount of SE5 problems vs. SM5 problems. Then again, who knows who is chiming in and who isn't.

My advice would be to make sure you have the additional mileage warranty with the roadside assistance. I'm going to be checking in with an additional dealership or two so as to find the best price...

Don't let others influence whether or not you're going to ride your Spyder. Not every SE5 is having problems, there have been mentions on here of folks who have had no problems. If you just park the Spyder you're never going to know.

:agree:best thing to do is ride the pants off of it while it's under warranty :spyder2:

Get some spare relays since they are often the cause for minor glitches. $7-$8 at auto parts stores and then you won't have to worry about finding a Can Am dealer or finding out they don't stock relays. Carry a little oil with you in case you run a little low.

Thanks, you are right about who is chiming in and who isn't. We really like our Spyder and want to make plans for some extended trips. Thanks for your insight and help. I'll be watching for your report. Thanks again!

This is going to show my igorance but, what relays do I need to get? That would be a great comfort knowing I could change them and not have to wait for a dealer to get them and charge $$$$$$ to install it. Thanks, I'll be watching for your response.

Thanks sleepman. Who knows how many SE5's out there are not having any problems and are not connected to SpydrLovers.com. We'r headed out for a 100+- ride in the morning. I'll chime in soon.:2excited::yes::pray:
