• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do owners of the F3 do about the potential of theft? I realise these things can't be loaded into the back of a van, but they can still get stolen.

get insurance... or leave it in YOUR garage.. there is nothing that cannot be stolen..

I realise, but sometimes you can't leave it in the garage. When touring/on holiday etc. I was just interested. I'd carry my Almax chain in a tail pack and attach the bike to a lamppost via the frame.

i know people hate to have stuff stolen, i had a bike taken on me once, but heck that is why we pay big money to have insurance

If someone really wants your bike, it will be gone.

I just do the normal things when away from home. Lock the steering. Park it under a light (light is like kryptonite for most scumbags), if you staying in a motel, park it as close to your room window as you can and open the window if you can.

I don't bother with brake disk / wheel locks and such. If the RF chip (key) isn't in range, it shouldn't even be able to be started. Even if someone knows how to hot wire it, they would have to rip off the tupperware to do it.

Also, dragging an 850lb machine onto a flatbed is not done quietly unless it is on grass or mud.

I used to worry about this when I first got my RS-S but now I just pay my insurance premium.

I agree, if someone wants to take it, it'll be gone.

Get insurance for it, and enjoy the ride!

In northern European countries, theft insurance is mandatory, I think. In UK, at least, the minimum cover you get is 'third party, fire and theft'. If I was parking one of these outside (and most people don't have garages), I wouldn't sleep unless it was attached to an immovable object by a chain which could not be manually boltcropped.

when i did a cbs clip with aaa we both stated wheel locks are a theft deterrent. they will slow the thief down and make noise
so that someone may see what is happening. nothing stops theft. as i said on tv make sure you have insurance to cover any
type of theft if you are worried. on my :spyder2: i have full coverage all the way through but probably not enough for the farkles.
Oh & the most important thing is the DMWMS decal to ward off theft, vandalism and bad juju.
