• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anti-Theft Locking License Plate Fasteners, which are best?

Alabama went to a system that prints the license plate number on the sticker when they issue it, so it is very easy to see if they match or not.

If they are making off with the entire plate, I like the rivet idea. If the "bracket" happens to be plastic, shoot the rivet thru a washer on the backside so they cant just snap it off. The cross cut of the sticker is a good idea too if they just lift the stickers.

Shoot, here in Fla they just don't bother about driver's licenses or insurance. How they get tags without either baffles me. When I was in Oklahoma, every year you renewed you had to show proof of insurance. Fla hasn't asked me once since I moved back in '96!

That is because you are not required by law to have insurance for a motorcycle in Florida. In most accidents with 2 vehicles, the 4 wheelers are going to come out on top. The insurance is required by the company you finance the motorcycle with. You really should carry at least liability on a motorcycle, even though it is not required by law. The motorcycle operator can be held liable by the law for accidents they cause.

If your moped is 50 cc or less, it does not fall under the category of motorcycles by driver license law definition, S. 322.01(25), F.S., so a motorcycle endorsement on your regular operator (Class E) driver license is not required per S. 322.03(4), F.S.

Part of this was due to all the businesses on the beach that used to rent mopeds to tourists.

It is legal to operate a moped less than two HP without a license. Used to be legal to operate a motorcycle with less than 5 HP without a license and any motorcycle with a learners permit. Most of that has changed. When that was law almost all the Asian imports were 100 cc or less. They had to change the laws when Honda, Kawa, and zuki started sending scooters over with 750 plus cc.

Go on U tube and watch the song "Little Honda" by the Beach Boys. I bought a Super-90 Honda when I was 12 years old. Got a Restricted Driver's License when I was 14 and bought a 305 Super Hawk. Things have changed...
