• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anti-freeze

Found on the internet:
Both orange and green antifreeze serve as engine coolants, designed to keep it from freezing or overheating. They also defend the cooling system against corrosion. However, older cars contain more metallic components, while newer models have more aluminum and nylon. Green is formulated for the former, and orange, the latter.

So I would need the orange for my 2016 1330 RT Limited ?

"Green is formulated for the former, and orange, the latter."

That is painting with a broad brush. Orange is Dexcool, and green is ethylene glycol. Personally I prefer green in all my cooling
systems, both old and new. Too many issues with Dexcool to my liking.

But you most definitely do not want to mix them, as they will gel and cause major cooling problems.

My understanding is that BRP went with Dexcool-type with the newer engines like yours. If it's orange, you could do a thorough
flush and go with green or stay with the orange. If you change to green, make sure you get the "Silicate Free" formula.

After reading this THREAD .... I did some searching .... found a one gal. container ( Dexcool ) 50/50 premixed for $10.96 @ Walmart .... it is the house brand ..... but it is the same stuff ..... Super Tech ..... Mike :thumbup:and on the label it's free from borates, silicates, phosphorous, nitrites And amines ...

green is 2 year anti freeze. orange or pink is for the 1330 and the aluminum components.

Stick with what came on the bike.

I know prestone has what is needed for our bike too.

Green is 2 year anti-freeze? Whaaaaa? Green is fine for aluminum components, just make sure
it's silicate free.

However I agree that sticking with what is already in there is the easiest way to go.

Check your MOM! Maintenance Owners Manual. It is prolly BRP specific.

BRP preferred at least. Just please do not mix antifreeze colors:lecturef_smilie:produces nothing but gummy mess throughout entire system :sour::barf:
