• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lost my radio antenna in MV. Just fell off on the road. Checked with the guys working on the :spyder2:'s at MV, they didn't have any. The rep said he coulda sold at least 20 just on Saturday. Wasn't there something from BRP about RT antennas???

I believe it was to add a star washer & drop of Loctite just at the bottom of the antenna (no on the threads) and screw it in.

There was a service bulletin for the 2010 antennae. It involves installation using a star washer and one drop of Loctite on the very end thread only. Most anyenna losses are caused by inadequate dealer installation, I'm afraid. Some techs just don't follow the new procedure carefully. If not, even a 2011 antenna can disappear.

same problem with my 2010. They installed star washer and used locktite. The antenna is still on about 10,000 miles later.

Mine was covered under warranty.

I bought and tried a wal mart shorty antenna while I was waiting for the part to come in.

Still have the back up antenna just in case.

A minor annoyance--but they should be able to install an antenna that does not fall off on a $30K machine.

The radio antenna fell off?? Hmmm, isn't the antenna attached to a coax running to the radio or does it just screw on like the newer autos. I will check mine.....

"B". It screws into a small plate and the coax connects to that plate.

I replaced my antenna with a "shorty" and lock washer the day I got my RT, thanks to warnings from friends and the forum comments. Anyone who wants a stocker can have mine for $1 + shipping…..

I love the shorty, as it's easier to get the cover over it, and it handles my flag easier than the stock one would. Tho my SO dresses it up WAY more...

The good news is that they're covered under warranty if you lose one on the road...

How cool is that? On the other hand covering the loss of antennas doesn't say much for BRP's faith in its dealership's ability to screw one piece of metal into another piece of metal. :joke:

Had the dealer order one today. I looked closer at the mount, no evidence of Loc Tite or star washer being used. :gaah:
