• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

another tire issue

Never ceases to amaze me. Everybody has a tire story and an opinion and there is no agreement what so

ever.

Kind a like trying to "Pin the Tale on the Donkey" in a dark room!

Rumor has it that a new Website called TIRELOVERS is in the works. Lamont is fine tuning it as I type.

I have enjoyed traveling on pneumatic tires all my life from Generals to Michelins to Hankooks to and probably Firestones (my Dad used to patronize the local Firestone shop back in the days of retreads) before the Ford Explorer OEM firestorm erupted. I dont have anything too bad to say about any of them if they are available and provide value that I judge works for me. I kinda do prefer a car tire to the lighter Kenda carcass on these Spyders tho' - DISCLAIMER The Kenda Cruz's I ran on the old Honda Shadow worked fine for me!!;);)

I purchased a Kuhmo tire. Was told by dealer im taking it to, that they would install the new tire but motorcyle rims are not made for car tires! Really?

. He's absolutely correct ( amazing :roflblack: )......But He didn't bother to tell you ....the Spyder has " CAR " style rims ........this is a proven FACT not my opinion..............Motorcycle tire " BEADS " are very different than car type " beads ".......they aren't interchangeable .............Car tires a perfectly safe on the Spyder rims ....I have been using them since 08 on three different Spyders...............Mike

:agree: When Robmorg was having his tire replaced at Netzley's; they took the time to compare the Spyder rim, to an automotive rim.
The area where the bead seats on them, was identical.

Got my Kuhmo tire on. How much air do I put in this tire. Dealer said they put in 28psi. I checked it yesterday and it only had 25 psi. I when we ride two up, we have close to 400# riding. So would 27 psi be too much?

That's what I hAve in my Kumho cold... when it warms up it gets to 30 on a hot day..

Its fun to monitor the pressure with the FOBO monitors. That big rear tire seems to flex and heat up more according to the FOBO tire monitors, it starts at 27 for me at 75 degrees and can get to 31 psi at 105 degrees on a hot afternoon. The fronts for me start at 20 psi and only climb about 1.5 psi more and only get to around 90-95 degrees. Less flexing I guess.

Quite a few run lower pressures on the Kumho and other car tires, but I just like to stick around 26-27 psi cold.. Your call, Happy Riding!!
