There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Was going to get a Go Pro3 in the spring...but this baby is a viable alternative. Form factor looks smaller than the GoPro, and I dig that I can get it in black or white to mount color-matched with either the GS or the ST-L. Thanks for sharing the link as i'll be looking into this product much more in-depth over the winter.
Wyliec...i'm not familiar with GovX. When I checked into the price of the unit I got $399. I much prefer your $249 number...what's involved in becoming a GovX member?

The price from garmin is $299.99. To join govx, you have to be a military (active, reserve, former, or retired) or gov't employee (federal, state, or local).

Very nice looking camera. I like the fact it has a builtin screen. The gopro's are just so expensive if you want the screen. On my xmas list now

Not sure it's related ... but ... shortly after I signed up on this site, I got a barrage of spam messages. Could be unrelated but I pay close attention to this sort of stuff.

VIRB Elite
Just got my VIRB Elite, need to decide where to mount it but I love the on / off switch on the left side that I can use without having to take off my gloves. The fact that the battery is only good for 3 hours (normal resolution) in Max resolution the battery is only good for about two hours but the camera will record with external power so I can connect an external battery pack. (HQRP 12000mAh 2 USB External Battery Pack) Had the camera duct taped to my truck dash last week just to test but love the results. I'll post some videos when I learn how.
