Another Sad Confession...

Nice looking bike Bruce--- congrats!

And thanks for posting your reasons in a manner that doesn't bash BRP up and down like many others have done.

You are a class act sir!

:agree: It was nice meeting you in Gatlinburg this year and hopefully you'll be there again next year. Good luck and happy (and safe) riding. :D

If I remember right you weren't on a Spyder the first time you were here. ;)
You're Welcome anytime Bro. :doorag:

Thanks again, Lamont. Your memory serves you correctly. I still had the Kawasaki Concours at that time!

It was great meeting you too, and hopefully we will both make it back there next year!

Thanks,

Bruce

Sorry to lose your perspective and commentary but congratulations on your new ride. Life is too short -- and so is our riding season -- to be unhappy with what you're riding.

Thanks for being a great member of this forum!

Guzzis are decent bikes. Unfortunately, Moto Guzzi of North America will not give you the level of support that BRP did in the event that something does go wrong. I had issues with the hydraulic lifters in my '03 Stone Touring that took three months for the dealer to repair what was my main form of transport, and that after having to threaten the dealer and MGNA with the Lemon Law in writing. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your Spyder, Bruce, It was good to meet you in Gatlinburg, hope to see you there next year.
Please keep in touch with us.

I enjoyed meeting you and spending time with you in Gatlinburg. I'm sorry you had so much trouble with your :spyder2:. I've had my share too but always little things and not enough to dissuade me from keeping her.

Maybe some day we'll run into each other again. I hope so

Thank you Rod. I am hoping to stick around, even without a Spyder. I truly enjoy this forum and the great people on it.

Yes, I am concerned about that, but the dealer is a friend of mine and we have done business for many years. I am confident that if I have a problem and need an advocate, he will be there for me.

Thank you John. It was great to meet you too, and I am planning to attend again next year.

Brian, I really enjoyed your jokes and stories, and I hope we can both make it back to Gatlinburg. Good Lord willing, I will be there next year.

Good luck w/ your new ride Bruce. My heart sunk a little when I read your post,:( but you make a very good point about a vehicle not being like a bottle of fine wine. I too was happy to meet you at Lamont's BBQ. I was the guy chatting w/ you about Neil Young in the screened in area where the t-shirts and cake were. You are truly a class act and one of the folks a really wanted to meet after reading your posts here.

Hope you can make it to the Smokies next year!

Thank you very much Tom. Your kind words, and the words of other forum members, are appreciated more than you can know. I remember our conversation and I hope we do get to meet again. I am certainly planning to come back to the Smokies. I joined SpyderLovers for the roadster, but I'd like to stay for the people!

Sorry to hear you had so many issues with your Spyder and it brought you to that point. I surely hope you will enjoy your new bike now. Take care and ride safe.

Bruce: I am sorry to hear you are giving up on the Spyder, however the important thing is that you will continue to enjoy the sport of motorcycle riding. Which brand, or what kind of motorcycle is not important. The joy of riding adds meaning to life. I hope you are able to attend some Spyder events. Please bring your Italian friend. Maybe Mr. Guzzi will meet a cute young Spyder.:2thumbs:

Best Wishes!

Walt

Bruce, Sorry you had bad luck with yours. My luck hasn't been much better. Don't forget to put your feet down when you stop.

I have to much money into my Spyder to get rid of it. I know after my extended warranty ends. I don't have the money to keep having it fixed. At the end of the warranty I will stop riding it and just put her up and only take her out for special shows. I will get a RT one of these days.nojoke After BRP and the dealers get on the same page.:roflblack: I'm a big believer in the extended warranty. Bike came with a two year factory warranty, and a four year extended. I'll be tired of this spyder long before 6yrs.:2thumbs:

One of these days I will make it a little further east and take you up on that Roaddog! Thank you!

Thanks Walt. Yes, I have been riding for 40 years now, so I sure don't want to give up on bikes at this point. I wonder what a cross between a Guzzi and a Spyder would look like? :D

Thanks Spyder #353. I was fortunate when I bought my Spyder that here in Canada they were offering a three-year warranty, although BRP clawed it back to two years in 2009. That means it still has almost two years left under warranty which I think would be a big selling point. It also made me feel better to know that the new owner will have a good amount of warranty left in case of further issues.

Thanks Terry. Have fun with your Tri-Glide! It looks like a really nice ride, and I can tell you I had very good luck with my 1990 Harley Electra-Glide. It was a very reliable bike. :2thumbs:
