Well, have now ridden the new RT, and offer, perhaps, a different view.
1. The bags are bigger than my GIVIs - or, at least, seem to be.
2. I don't like the top case (just me)
3. Another stock seat to change - I much prefer my Corbin
4. I love the radio ($10 K for a radio???)
5. The electric windshield is nice, but I have more adjustibility with mine (just not power)
6. I would have to add all the aftermarket stuff again (sway bars, risers, horns)
7. The GPS was nice, but my 550 moves to other bikes, so .....
8. I like the front look better, and a few other niggly bits, but not enough.
All-in-all, I'd opt for another RS, especially with the discounts on new '08s and '09s - right now, I could buy TWO NEW SM-5s for the price of one RT.
Finally, the electronics are the same as those in my '09, so I still wouldn't leave my Valk at home for a trip over a couple of hundred miles.
So I decided to keep the cash in the bank - most of it - I splurged on a new 27" iMac to read the forum.... :roflblack:
