There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Another Milestone For Me!!!

I rode into work today. It had rained overnight, and the roads were a bit wet still. I'm still not completely comfortable getting on the expressway (especially at 5:30 in the a.m.).....

I took a route that skips most of the e-way. I would normally get on the on-ramp that is towards the end of the route. It's one of those where you just stay in the on-ramp lane and go to the next exit without having to leave that lane. Lo and behold-----A TRAIN!!!!:mad::mad: You can't wait for those in the morning because they are either coming out of the train yard (which this one was doing) or trying to get into the yard. Coming out, over 100 cars usually. Takes FOREVER!!! Going in, move 2 car lengths, stop, move 2 car lengths, stop. Very frustrating.

So, I had to get on the e-way....on wet road... :yikes: I got in the lane that had the most dry spots and took off!! Obviously, made it there in one piece, and NOT soaking wet!!! On my Honda, I would have been wet from the knees down and crapping my drawers, praying it didn't start sliding all over and chuck me off of it!!!!

I soooooooo love my :spyder2: !!!!! My face still hurts after I ride it too--from grinning ear to ear!!!:clap::clap:

My experience has been that the Spyder is very stable to ride in the wet, my wife never believed it, but after being the backseat dryver during SITA and we drove a couple of hundred miles in the downpour she is a believer.

Congrats on your progress, you will be surprised on the stability in the wet.

On a two wheeler I was always seriously scared whenever it rained and that really limited my riding.. Ever since we rode thirteen hours straight in the rain on the way to Spyderfest I have had a true appreciation for the Spyder "wet" handling (we had heavy winds also).. Now I actually find myself hoping it will rain each time I go out to cool it off. Much more comfortable seeing pounding rain than ambient temps over 108... Believe me , the more you ride it in the rain the easier it will become. Have fun

Guys I work with were in shock and aww the other day when I rode in on my :spyder2: in the rain and was basically only wet at my neck/shoulders (where the water came off my helmet) and a little bit around the hem of my pants. Two of my employees rode in on their HD's and were drenched. One even called my wife and laughed at how much of lucky SOB I am, "he's never seen anything like it!" :ohyea:
Enjoy the ride...I'm the same that day was my first day or riding in a true rain and I'm impressed with the handling.

Just one word of caution--avoid standing water if you see it in time--:spyder2: likes to hydroplane and you will get a chance to see what "Nanny" does.

I have been saved a couple of times when I did not see it.

PS--I rode to work in the rain today--so am comfortable with :spyder2: in rainy weather. The 2-wheeler stays home on days like this though.

Yeah, I avoided several large puddles!! There was a car far behind me on the road with the train crossing. He actually followed my lead when I would go the the center of the road to avoid them!!! :D

When it was so hot here, I really couldn't ride much. Now that it's cooling down.... vrooom vroooooooom!!!!:thumbup:

We had a similar situation coming back from Spyderfest. Had bad weathe rand the :f_spider: did great.. when we took an exit we did hydroplaned, nani kicked in.. I pray .. while hubby drove... if we would have been in a 2 wheeler.. we wouldn't be here..

Question: have you been in a situation where you caught standing water with just ONE front wheel? How does the Spyder (and Nanny!) react to that?? I'm curious because I have visions of the bike wanting to pivot around the wheel that's in the puddle... :yikes:

rain is no problem for the sypder

Unless your taking your :spyder2: through a drive through automatic car wash:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:(maybe your helmet needed washing) you will not get wet. My wife and I rode 4 days in heavy rain and winds up to 80km hour and we were dry as a bone. Really the only time you start to get wet is when slowing down these bikes are truly amazing on wet roads. The more you ride in the rain the more confident you will get with this bike, don't worry relax enjoy the ride and keep smiling.

Think it would be the same reaction as a car. Only difference being one side of you would get wetter than the other. ;)

The best way to go through a puddle is let off the gas and coast through it.

Like spyderrock says, "The more you ride in the rain the more confident you will get with this bike, don't worry relax enjoy the ride and keep smiling."

Bob D. My experiences with hydroplaning were when water was all across the road. We sometimes encounter low spots due to frost heaves or settling. The highway in question has been repaired so have not encountered the problem in that area since.

Slowing down to 50-55 (where possible) and coasting through, also seemed to help avoid the situation.

I hope I never encounter a situation where the :spyder2: would pivot around. :yikes:

No spinning on the :spyder2: ,thank you very much!!!! :gaah:

Had a slow e-way drive home today. There was an oversized flat bed semi full of wood ahead of the car in front of me!!! I stayed pretty far back---just in case..... Me trusting no one!!! ;)

Sometimes I find myself speeding up to pass flatbed trailers loaded with weird stuff. Today I zoomed past one with giant rolls of sod but I was really surprised and disgusted when later today an old guy in a SUV launched his fast food super sized soft drink cup out his window and I had to dodge it. I wanted to follow him home and give him a piece of my mind or dump a bag of trash in his front yard.
