Another CB Question

So, it was my plan to hook a J and M handle mount CB to the CanAm, I went to order the antenna mounting block they sell. The person I was talking to was very up front that he and probably the rest of the staff did not know if I could just screw the normal (to me) coax cable connector that is on the J and M CB into the CanAm wiring system. As they only made the antenna mounting block.

So does any one know what the connectors are for the CanAM -- any pictures?

The BRP CB antenna wiring harness comes with the BRP CB/Intercom. I believe the antenna mounting bracket also comes with the CB kit, so you will likely have no help there.

I actually sent an email to them about making a handlebar set up for the Spyders. I explained with all the problems BRP was having and the poor reviews for the BRP CB I felt J&M was missing out on a possible sales bonanza. No reply was forthcoming. They even failed to acknowledge my email. I can only surmise there is no interest on their part.

I am sure they don't see a need -- but they did make the replacement antenna block -- my other dealings with J and M have always been positive

The JM antenna comes with the antenna staff and mounting block ($99). I have a JM antenna kit on my bike with a BRP CB radio. If you PM me your email, I would be happy to email you the instructions.

I the BRP CB antenna replacement kit comes with the antenna staff, mounting block, ground strap, and wiring (#219400317-$154).

You will need to purchase an antenna boot

Steve -- what is the connector that goes to the antenna block? Is it a standard coaxial? Like what is on the end of the J am M cb? Since I already have a J and M cb, I am trying to save a few dollars instead of buying the BRP unit and I am suspect with what I have read about them

No, at the mounting block the coaxial splits into a ground wire and a hot wire so to speak. A standard connector on the radio end. You will need a BRP CB antenna cable which you can purchase, unless you have a CB shop modify an antenna cable. Here's a pick of the block. When I get home I will look for a pic of the cable end.
