• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another brilliant idea

I had the hinges in my left saddlebag (RT) break and my dealer ordered the part to repair it. The part needed is the inside of the saddlebag and my dealer said it wasn't a quick replacement. My brilliant idea was to do it myself as I'm leaving for Washington and British Columbia on Wednesday. How hard could it be anyway? A few screws and I'd be on my way. Ha! Several hours later the job is done. Nearly all of the tupperware had to come off, I should have known that would be the case. :banghead::banghead:

Hi Ann,

Did yours break in the same spot as Jim who posted about his yesterday? Did you take any pictures?

Glad to hear that you have it fixed, but also sorry to hear that it happened in the first place.

Well that sucks!
Mines broken too and it looks like an easy fix but NO!!!
Oh well, winter project...

Have a safe trip Ann!

Had a look while washing and cleaning the RTs this morning.

May be nice to replace the entire part and see warranty for it. The simple fix may just be to locate or fabricate some angles to pick up the oem hinge support, and then secure with a couple of screws and nuts to the compartment bottom.

Few photos of left and right taken from underneath. With all the oem ribbing, it limits some options.

:D You're right; it was just the beer! :roflblack:

You didn't have too many...The photo upload went into some kind of NASA smart code. I disregarded the smoke belching from my hardrive. Deleted the photos and redid them. Seems ok now.

Glad to know that a competent person tried this and was roughed up. Now I know not to try it for sure

Yes, it seems that we are having a rash of broken hinges. I'm also having phone issues so Joe is going to email me the pictures he took and I will post them later.

The design is like trying to hold up an elephant with a toothpick. :banghead:

Here are pictures
