I had a 2014 RTL compressor fail at 20K miles and now have a 2015 RTL with a failing compressor at about the same mileage. I know some will say just use the valve to increase pressure, but i enjoy the convenience of the compressor. My question is will dealers install the better Vlair or equivalent instead of the poor quality BRP unit? I am not willing undertake the job of doing it myself. I doubt dealers will be willing to do that but wondered if anyone has asked.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Probably not under a BRP warrantee but possibly under another warrantee, or, if you are funding the repair out of pocket. If you are paying for the repair I don't see why any dealer would object to replacing the crappy BRP compressor with a quality compressor of your choice. Good luck.

What is going to Cost the most is the LABOR ( not the PART ) …. I doubt you have ANY warranty left on a 14 RT …. So get the Vlair compressor and heave them do the labor.... If you still have warranty, the dealer can make the claim to BRP, when the parts come in, have the dealer use your " Vlair " compressor and the dealer can just keep the BRP part...… see if you can BARTER your BRP part fot some or all of the Labor charge …. The Dealer will send your Failed compressor back to BRP …. the Dealer will also be re-imbursed for the Labor … so it's a win - win all around ….. good luck …. Mike

What I would ask myself is do I really adjust the air in the system a lot!!! If the answers yes then maybe a aftermarket compressor will work for you, but if your dealers like the one I have around here they will only use BRP stuff:banghead:! My compressor left me this spring and I made the choice to make it a manual fill and have not missed the compressor a bit, it was a simple fix!!!

Actually I haven't heard it either come on or exhaust at all since I've made the upgrade. I used the preload to set the ride height to just under where it throws the suspension fault code at me, and if I leave it alone the air bag runs at zero PSI. I added 5 PSI manually to the bag to keep the wrinkles out of the air bag and it pretty much stays in there. Air compressor problem solved! I hear the after marked shock guys are working on a solution similar to this, just not sure when they'll get it done.
The Viair aftermarket compressor works well...But its NOT an exact drop in fit...The Viair motor is round where the compressor mounts...The BRP compressor is sorta oval shaped and the factory clamp will work but its not an exact fit...The Viair compressor gets really close to the one nipple in the brake reservoir...I ended up shimming out the reservoir for a little extra clearance...which in turn required a little trimming of the plastic next to the reservoir...I have mechaniced all my life, close to 60 years...When I put something together I like it to look like a factory job...So I'm a lot more meticulous than most...larryd
