• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Analog speedometer quit working

I noticed this afternoon that my analog speedo on my RT-S wasn't working. I don't know when it quit, I mostly use the digital readout anyway. Any ideas what might be the cause?

Maybe it's like a plant, when you ignore it for long enough it just dies. I wont say anything about how terrible you are as a person. Shame, shame, shame.:joke:

Time for a new cluster. Be sure to record your mileage when you drop it off at the dealer. I prefer to snap a picture. Your new cluster will revert to zero miles.

It works

This morning it works. Here is what I think, it's a different kind of heat issue. I left it set in a parking lot all day here in Texas and the heat may have caused the outer cover to sink in and bind the needle and after it cooled off overnight in my garage it's ok now. Whatever it was it works now.:banghead:

Pull out your safety card and use it to shade the display when parked in the sun. If you don't like what it says, Lamonster has a sticker with alkternate wording.

I had an issue with the Tach sticking on my cluster, and then it would give me low readings until it was re-set. Moisture was often related to it, and for a while it was hard to get the dealer to re-produce the intermittent issue (which went away when the Spyder was hot). Finally, I got a video of it on my phone on a bad day (you can see it start up and that needle doesn't do its normal up-down thing, and then you see it idling at 0). For you, a photo at some speed with the very different readings ought to do it.

The dealer replaced it under my non-BRP warranty once I showed them the video (without them needing to reproduce the error themselves), as I had the video to show what was going on. I think it would have some to something just under $1K on my RT, otherwise. They didn't bother to warn me about the re-set to zero, but I got the mileage from them since they check it when they take the Spyders in, or course.
