There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. You might need the bag, but not on the ground. Four separate beds, You, Peoria Dave, Shane for 1 night, and Me.

I plan to make this ride. Count me in. I'm not sure if I will be staying overnight some place or not. Plans for me are open at this time. I may head up on Thursday, and head north back home once were in Vermont on the ride. I currently don't have a place booked to stay anywhere.

Fred Rau will be at Americade, Lamont, will you? Pehaps a banner run, Americade, Loconia, and Chicago

I have not rode the course yet so the time could change a little, but we are leaving from McDermot's. The weather and scheduling has kept me from finishing the details, but I am planning on going up tomorrow and thursday, so it should set by this weekend.

Thanks rnet - I await with baited breath......
Looking forward to another great week at Americade

Going to scout the route. The weather ify today but tomorrows part of the ride should be good. Leaving in about 15 minutes , let you all know when I return late tomorrow.

JUst can't understand......

Well a while ago I was asked if Spyderlovers could meet at our booth at McDermott's on Thursday morning to meet us and then leave for a ride.

To me it sounded cool and a good idea....

Well today I got a call from Mcdermott's somewhat flipping out on how "you can't have a offical ride leave from our parking lot" and "you know we have a small parking lot and don't have room for 30 to 40 Spyders"

Seems one of the people who was going to be meeting there stopped in to talk to the dealer about it, and that's when they went off the deep end.

Well all I have to say to that is BS!!!!!!

If 30 or 40 HD HOG club members were going to meet at our booth then leave for a ride, you can bet this phone call would never have come.

I just can't understand how the dealership could be this short sighted?

Yes, these may not be HD's, but Spyder owners many times have other bikes they own or ride with people who do have other brands.

We have 3 Spyders here at the shop, and we also have 4 HD's here!

So, right now it was left with the dealer that she was going to be calling this person back (as she had gotten his phone number) and tell them not to meet there on Thursday morning.

I just hope that any Spyder owner that wants to stop by our booth and meet us, have work done, or buy parts does not have a problem, OR HER AND I WILL HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM FACE TO FACE WHEN I'M THERE!

So, to all you people who were planning to meet at the HD shop on Thursday before your ride. I would suggest you touch base with the others in your group to be sure of the where and when it is now going to be leaving from?

I'm sorry the dealership is being so shortsighted, but it's "their bat and their ball" so we have to play by house rules when we are there.

By the sounds of the last post it looks like we might have to find a new spot to leave from. Any ideas? It seemed pretty good at the Spot (Comfort Inn) where we left from with the brp group. I am not sure where you route is, but maybe one of the Shopping Centre parking lots (Walmart or K-Mart). Name the place and time - I'll still be there.

MM......

I feel bad that you got snagged in this. I think that Ron selected McDermott's because (1) you were going to be there, (2) folks might not -- by Thurs -- have seen your products; and (3) it was a good place to start from away from the hustle and bustle of Lake George.

I'm not sure how many ACTUAL calls McDermotts got but the number so far of Spyders "signed up" is 18! It's possible, of course, that we might have 30 but I personally doubt it in that BRP is NOT officially sponsoring the ride (no free t-shirts or lunch).

So, I think your sense of the whole thing is "bang on". They don't want us cluttering up their parking lot -- period.

Ron and I are presently thinking about alternatives and should have something to report as soon as he returns from a reconnoiter of the route. We'll post our suggestions here.

Sorry, then, for the problem. It's clear that we shouldn't call McDermotts; instead folks intending to attend should watch this space.

Ron is up their right now going over the route and where the stops will be. He will be on here tomorrow night. i just spoke with him and right now it looks like 17-18 spyders and maybe a few harleys joining in. Hey evan it's not your fault 18 spyders want something done to their bikes at the same time. I'am sure ron will figure it out for us.

Ya it was me just checking for any snafoo's and I found one first thing. They did seem pretty obnoxious. I did tell them that we had 18 spyder's now and maybe there might be 30. Left my name and # so they could get back to me. But I did not have a good feeling so in 10 minutes I had a better place to meet but will let everyone know after I talk to ken. I just got back 30 minutes ago

I will post after I talk to Ken. Overall everything went great. I have one road closure during americade that I have to route around. To bad, it was a great mountain twisty.

They did seem pretty obnoxious.

Yes she tried to rip into me too.

She seems to forget I live around here and am not just some far away voice on the phone.

She also forgets she has got to see me face to face next month.

I find many times people are a whole lot more timid face to face then they are over the phone.

This should be very interesting to see if once she meets me face to face if she is so quick to try to jump in my sh-- about Spyders!

Yep I was just being courteous to make sure it was ok. We could have just showed up since it's open to the public. But sometimes things work out for the better. So here's were we are going to meet. Just down the street from McDermonts ( about a 1.5 miles south on the same side of Rt. 4 ) there's a diner called Sally's Hen house. The address is 3978 State Route 4, Hudson, NY., 12839. If your traveling from Lake George and going east on Rt. 149, it is 4 miles from the intersection of Rt. 149 and Rt. 4 in Fort Anne. You can also goggle the diner name to find instructions. We will be departing at 8:30 am and if you plan on having breakfast their, then I would show up around 7 am. That's when I'll be their. It is about a 50 seat diner with lots of parking and they said our money is always welcome. Now the ride, the first stops will be some covered bridges near Bennington, Vt. with a rest/gas stop 15 miles prior. Then on to a revolutionary war monument in Bennington and a tour to the top. This is the tallest structure in vermont so the views here are great overlooking bennington, the berksires, the green and the taconics mountain ranges. With a short ride through bennington make sure you check out the churches, then we head back to the north and time permitting another covered bridge on our way to the top of Mount Equinox. This is the steepest privately owned toll road in the country and yes I said toll road. The price per motorcycle is $10.00, but with a group rate that $10 will also get up the monument tour. Next up will be gas and lunch in Manchester, Vt. at the Sirloin Saloon. Lunch will be on your own and the lunch menu runs between $8.00 & $12.00. At this point if some would like to head back to lake george or do some shopping here in Manchester, you are free to go, while the rest of us will head into the mountains on Rt. 100 and on to a small cheese factory After a bunch of twisties and mountain riding we will end up back at canal lock # 9 were there's lot of room to chat and say our goodby's or make plans for something else. The first part of the ride till lunch is about 5 hours where the second is approx 3 hours. Hope to see you in in three weeks. If you have any questions feel free to address me here, cause maybe someone else has the same question. You can also PM me Thanks, Ron PS; Evan I will make sure I stop by.

I have a few little things that my dealer gave me to give out on the ride and it's not much, but I was thinking how to give something to one but not everyone, so here's what I have decided on. Simple rules, what I say goes, whom ever posts the correct answer first will win, providing you are present on the group ride and you can only win once. We are all here to have fun so to help kill some time until Americade, here we go. What is the name of the oldest cheese factory in the western hemisphere?

Crowley Cheese Co. Built in 1882 in Healdville Vermont :)
Ok I'm curious how you knew the correct answer so quickly. I know your from northern Vt. This happens to be a stop on the spyder covered bridge tour. Thanks to Arctic Adventures of Rosendale, NY. for sponsoring this gift. I'll have to make the next question tougher.

Just a lucky guess! :joke:
