• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Americade

Evan gave me the Ok to start from his location in Fort Anne so with that info, were off to a great start. I wounder what time ESI gets going there in the morning. Maybe an install, breakfast, and then the ride. What do you think Evan.

Hi Rnet

Missed meeting you last year. Hopefully this year. As I said, please count the 3 Hammersmiths in on 2 RS's. Let us know when everything is more set in stone. :2thumbs:

Ron

I'am pretty sure i can make this if not on tuesday i can be their thursday or friday. i see roaddog mentioned something about Mt. washington is this mybe a doable ride not sure how far that is. heard alot about americade but never been their. :ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:

I got an email yesterday from Scott Walker -- BRP Rep -- and BRP is not going to organize a ride at Americade this year. He said that they might organize something for the Fall.

This means that if we want to have a Spyder ride on Thurs. of Americade week, we will have to do it ourselves.

rnet and I have been discussing this. We could go up Rt 100 in Vt or plan our own covered bridge tour in Vt. We need to find out if there is interest in either of these. Other possibilities are a ride to other sites in Vt., an Adirondack ride or ???

If you are going to Americade, would you show your interest here so rnet and I can get a sense about whether we should get planning. Also, if you have ideas for a day-long ride and a place to eat at noon, please let us know here.

It's our time to ride together.

I will be available for a Thursday Ride. Both rides you mentioned are good. Fort Anne works. What is the time to ride from Million Dollar Beach to Evan's place? (approx)

Google maps lists Lake George to Fort Ann at 20 minutes. The ride to Mt. Washington -- a group of us considered it last year -- is 4 1/2 hours one way at 220 miles. I doubt many would want to commit to ride there. It would be a 12 hour trip with lunch and site-seeing.

yep a little much!

There are a number of rides that are Guided (and unguided) with the Americade Registration. They provide maps. How about we take one of them with about 150 - 200 miles and go as a group. No cost or need to register. I like the Covered Bridge Tour. There were a few others as well. We did the Whiteface Mountain run last year, so I'd skip that one.

Thats basically what we plan on doing, just working out the details, but thursday is the day.

The Valleys and Mountains of Vermont

Ken and I have been chatting for almost a month now about having this trip should BRP not have anything and this is what we have come up with. It is approx. 180 miles and I will be riding this route in early may to finalize rest and gas stops. Those that are interested in this please post here, if you have not already done so. We need to have an idea how many so we can plan a place for lunch. I will also look for a possible meet in Fort Anne for breakfast. Tentative ride time will be 9:30 AM. We will explore the rich history of old Bennington, Vermont and visit several covered bridges on are way to Equinox Skyline Drive. You will ascend the steepest grade and tightest corners of any paved road in the eastern U.S. to the tallest mountain in the Taconic's with unparalleled views of the Green and Adirondack mountains. Next up, lunch with an opportunity to check out the mall outlets in Manchester, Vermont. From this point we will head east to ride the famous Rt. 100 with beautiful scenery abound on this loop before we head back to our starting point of Fort Anne and ESI headquarters. (McDermont's Harley)

Roger, it wiill be great to meet you. I met about 30 last year at Lake Placid and then a "gazillion" at the Spyders in the Smokies. I don't think you'll ever meet a better group of people. From all walks of life and VERY Friendly.
See you there

Sounds fantastic! I said earlier that I was interested. Consider this a CONFIRMATION now that the route has been established

I up graded my license to a EDL you never know when i might get a chance to make a run for the boarder. as far as i know you can still cross with your regular license but the EDL makes it alot easier.:trike::trike:

Went back and counted up those that have responded publicly and privately and here are approx 18 signed up for the ride as of now.

I will be doing the pre-ride next week to finish up the details. If anyone is interested in helping out or just riding along, let me know. I am planning midweek depending on the weather. since I am coming from 2.5 hours south I plan on taking 2 days.
