• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dropped off Spyder at Dealership to have some work done and service manager said I have a busted shock, bad sensor, belt needs adjusted and new rear tire, with labor $1106.00 and this is for a 2012 RTS SE5, am I being ripped off or what?

What is the status of your warranty, when i got my 2012 i got a 4 year warranty with it, that might help with the sensor and the shock.

Bike is out of Warranty.

Call another dealership and ask them what they charge. Determining if you need all of those things is another issue. You can see if the tire is worn pass the bars.

You be able to see if the shock is indeed broken. Seems to me a bad sensor should be picked up by the nanny.

Depends..!

which shock? How many miles on the tire? What sensor? The belt adjustment would be part of a tire change so they can't charge that twice. If the shock and sensor are linked again one charge. Hard to say but if that is parts and labor and you do need those things seems to be in the ballpark. get a break down

Thanks Chupaca for your input. It's my rear shock, I have over 12000 miles on my Spyder, must be a sensor located in rear suspension and my rear tire is worn in the middle. :opps:

:agree:....on the tire thing, get a car tire 215/60-15 ,these are easy to find you have a wide selection, ( + it fits perfect ) and you should get 40,000 + miles from it and it's going to much less than a KENDA.......if the dealer says no go to a dealer that will..................JMHO.....Mike

Had my rear shock go out on my 2012 under warranty. No damping at all. The only sensor on the rear suspension is for ride height. Mike is right get a car tire on the rear 215/60/15 fits and works great. If you have to buy a new rear shock you might want to buy an Elko.

I got my Spyder back home

After being in the shop for three weeks I got my Spyder back and it rides just like it's brand new. It ended up costing me $1673.00. :hun:

Here's the break down

Replaced rear shock with parts $147.98 labor charge $213.75

Sensor with parts $134.95 labor charge 123.50

Replaced rear tire $192.99 labor charge $118.75

and then I was told my Axle Shaft & Bearing has to be replaced before the Spyder could be put back together $333.50 labor charge $190.00

with diagnosis $101.65 it cost me $1673.09 to get my spyder back. :yikes:

This labor sounds about right if you had all these things done one item at a time. Looks to me like you payed to have the tire and wheel removed three times when they only did so once.

Yeah, a lot of money, but on the other side, safety must have a price also and I bet this cost is less than getting injured from poor handling.

I knew this reply is not printing money for you, kind of some times it is what it is.

You are so right

PMK you hit the nail on the head because my safety is number one. It's better to know and be safe than not to know and then it's all over. Happy Mothers Day to all of our Mothers and safe riding to all riders.

Guess you will need to work on the printing money yourself...

You know most stealers will wave the diagnostics fee if you have them repair the bike...A little bitchin could have knocked it down a bit??
