• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ran 177.9 miles and took 5.953 gallons of fuel. To close for me. Need a better low fuel light thst you can see.

Set your trip meter and go by the mileage. You should have had a clue long before 177 miles. JMHO

Trip to Spyderfest did 196 and took 6.1 gallons. Then had 199 on the odometer on the way to the drag races and ran out! :yikes:

I can tell you that when you're out, you're out. No sputter, no lurching or lunging. It acts exactly like hitting the kill switch. Power and then Zero, nada, nothing, you're DONE!

My buddy Dan, or was it Jim.... No maybe Dave.... Well, anyway, he didn't even help me out! :dontknow:

Way to keep the weight down for the drag strip Ron. :roflblack:

Have to agree..!!

Scotty
:agree: Have one trip meter for your gas mileage.. Unless you carry gas don't push it. The distance will vary sometimes quite a bit...

My old man constantly reminded me of two things..."It costs the same per mile to fill up at half or a quarter as it does when empty," and "You don't have to wait until you are on empty to fill up." I added the wisdom of learning the hard way how hard it is to hoof it to the gas station. The "nearest" gas station sometimes isn't so near. If I can go 150-180 miles on a tank, you can bet your bippy I'm gonna fill up around 100-120 if I can.

Yeah, especially travelling US60 in Missouri. The gas stations are few and far between from Poplar Bluff and Rogersville.

LOL On the way back home from SpyderFest, I had the radio blasting and wasn't paying attention.
I looked down, saw the low fuel light on. I was at 170 miles. Talk about big time pucker factor !!
I got lucky though, gas exit was a couple miles away. I thought for sure I wouldn't make it.
A mile or so before exit, the last bar on my gas gauge went blank.
Boy, I don't want that to happen again !!!!!

Gets your attention, doesn't it? :D

I did the 180 miles and 5.8 gallons--ONE TIME. It was good to see that I could stretch it if I had to. It is an interesting experience when you see the last bar disappear off the digital guage, or you are riding below empty on the analog guage.

As others have said--not recommended unless you are doing a fuel/distance test and have spare gas along with you. When I am riding in known areas, I usually fill no later than 150 miles on the trip or so. When I am riding on longer trips, I usually make gas stops at every 100-120 miles--just to keep the tank full and take a stretch break.

LOL happened to me yesterday. Light came on and 14 miles to the next gas station. My wife riding with me and keep asking , are we gonna make it? I told her yes , even not sure of myself. Honey, look the gas station is right ahead, she said yeah thanks god especially it's about to get dark. I was silently praying too:pray: and thinking our spyder is too heavy too push if we ever run out of gas. As we approach the gas station my heart almost fell when we found out they are out of gas.:yikes: I look on my gas gauge the needle was all the way to the bottom.:yikes: my wife asked me what we gonna do. I slowly calmly tilted my head toward her and told her don't worry we'll gas up to the next station, but how she said. The attendant told me the next station is only 5 miles away. My wife is really worried by now and she started praying and calling all the saints she could remember:pray:. With the gas needle all the way down I bravely drove 5 more miles and got to the next gas station and filled my gas tank 4.95 gallons. See honey we could have drove another 20 miles, She whispered not with me. LOL:yes::yes:
