Just wondering. Has anyone ever had their Spyder stolen? If so, how'd they do it?
I am sure they "love" to try to steal it, but they probably will try to mess with it instead because they don't know how the eff to ride it away because the "break" is missing.:roflblack:I'm not concerned with anyone wheeling it away but am concerned with tampering. My spyder seems to scream "mess with me".
I don't think that will work on the Spyder given you have to press the menu key before you can start it. I have a Scorpio SR I800 RFID Security System and I really like the fact it disarms/arms itself using the R.F.I.D. remote. No need to push any button!
You get a 44 so you don't need to double tap. Just be patient enough to let them line up properly, and then take a group of them down at once.Good thing about that size weapon is even if you hit someone in the arm, there is a great chance they are going down.
:agree: Hard to testify if you are pushing up daises! But it may not stop their "loved ones" from suing you.
True & False. Some states allow the "defending of personal property" as justified. The "life threatening" argument is a typical legal statue in most states. Thus research YOUR state and see what the guidelines are!
I don't know about your states, but here in Florida we have the Castle Doctrine and it states:
"The Florida "Castle Doctrine" law basically does three things:
Need you advise on location of components and its installation.
I bought the same system and temporarily installed the main console under the brake fluid reservoirs, on top of their hoses.
Ran the cables to the battery, the proximity sensor to the center upper frame member (under the "Y" tupperware), and the antenna cable (peeled its end) on top of the black plastic that covers the gas tank (right side).
I have not been able to make it work correctly, sometimes the alarm sounds when it is supposed to be un-armed, sometimes not.
When I press the remote, I have to maintain it pressed for a few seconds until it finally chirps acknowledging a command. And I have to be near the Spyder to make it work.
Have not yet adjusted the proximity sensor, which needs to be done.
Any advice or comment, and pictures, will be appreciated.
Regards, Pilo
Only thing I'd worry about these auto armers is the battery drain. If you have a battery that is on the border line that you didn't know about, stepping away for a few hours could mean a bike that won't start. I usually don't arm my Spyder unless I know I am going to be away for an extended time period AND parked in an area potencially might have people wanting to monkey with it.Mine is installed near the battery area under the seat and panel. You should not have to "arm" the system for it to work. Simply walking away with the remote should automatically arm it. The RFID in this system allows the remote and base to "talk" to each other and recognize when both are "close" (disarmed) or not (armed). So manual arming or disarming is never needed. If you still have a problem with this, try resetting the system.
A giant Schnauzer helps
I have also heard that the Ruger 380 LCP loaded with MagSafe ammo fits in the glove box of the RT-S and has faster stopping power than a .45ACP loaded with JHP.......I'm just sayin':dontknow:
Yeah, but a 45ACP with MagSafe will far outdo that! Gotta compare apples to apples...

But if fits perfect in my F150.:doorag:
Hah...get the glock 36 and you'll have all you need (so they say)...

M2Wild,
I'm switching jobs and will be working at a hospital that is not in a good section of the city. My question is this: is it a bad idea to have an alarm set for around 8 hrs?
I have a Kuryakyn LED battery gauge, which hopefully has some accuracy. Up to now it is always at 2 green lights, which is a good thing.
The main purpose of the alarm would be to sound when someone touched the spyder to prevent forceful entry into the trunk. I don't want to come out and find a broken trunk. I'm not so concerned with someone taking the spyder.
Any luck with the auto start on the Viper 5901. I'm currently in search for anyone who can help out my installer. I also have the Viper 5901 installed with auto trunk release and would like to add the auto start to my 2010 SE5. The auto start works on an SE model as I have seen it. Please let me know if you gotten yours to work.OK so been online looking at alarms found two that I like wonder if anyone has anyone or have any info on them. The Viper 5901 or the Cyclone? Both are about the same price the Viper cost a little more but comes with a remote starter. Both seem very sound to me about to do a coin flip to pick. hahaha :gaah: :shemademe_smilie:
