There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have the Corbin seat on our RT Limited and it is fine for us on 1 hour or less rides but on long rides we both have a medium crusier size AirHawk 2 that work great. The more expensive AirHawk has better quality materials but our AirHawk 2 cushions have held up well. Just make sure you don't over inflate them. :thumbup:

would you now say you could ride say maybe 600mi non-stop with this cushion without getting sore?

I own the recently-released Airhawk R cushion. I used it on the stock RS seat, and now my Ultimate Seat for the RS (for comparison, I also use a Beadrider from time to time).
Verdict? It's good, but inflation is everything. You really need to keep it lightly inflated to help-- too much air and you "bobble" atop the seat. Fine for the slab, bad-- even dangerous-- for the twisties.
I found that the aftermarket seat made a much bigger difference than the seat cushions-- my progression was:
1. 75 miles MAX on the stock seat before I was in ride-stopping pain.
2. With the Airhawk or Beadrider, 100+ miles on the stock seat before I had to get up (not a problem, given the Spyder's fueling range). But after that I didn't feel like riding much more, i.e. my total comfortable range was about 200 miles or so.
3. With the Ultimate Seat, still about 100+ miles before I had to get up, but no issues with getting back on the road again, i.e. my total range is north of 300+ miles for an easy comfortable day.
Now, I haven't ridden longer than 350 miles in a single day yet-- that should change in the next few weeks, FINALLY taking my spring trip. I plan on bringing the Airhawk along-- I won't use it continuously, I use it to "mix it up" when my Ultimate Seat wears me down. I'm expecting 600 miles should be quite doable with fueling/lunch breaks.

I have the crusier medium in the original configuration. The Airhawk 2 has not had good reviews.
You have to play around with it to get it right for you as far as inflation goes. Your supposed to sit in it, not on it. I don't know if it would make a 600 mile day any better. I either use or don't use it depending on my mood of the day. I like to change things around. Surely worth considering as additional seating comfort.

Our longest one day ride was to Cuba for Spyderfest. It is about 4 hours in the saddle from our home. We stopped every hour or so for a quick break and neither of us had sore butts when we arrived. Wouldn't be able to do it without the AirHawks.

Before investing in the Airhawk, I tried just about every other seat cusion out there without much relief. That said, it is during "hot weather" riding that I feel the most discomfort. After about 2 hours of non-stop riding I would just start to get uncomfortable. With the air hawk I have found that I can put in a 7-8 hour day of riding. I still find that a short break every couple of hours makes a big difference at the end of the day. Just that 5 or 10 minutes to stretch the legs makes a huge difference when riding in hot weather.

The Spyder RT seat suits me well, but a sheepskin or AirHawk makes it even better. I can go 50 miles on my BMW before I start to squirm, with just the seat, 100 miles with a sheepskin, and 150-200 miles with the AirHawk. On the Spyder I can go 500-600 miles without difficulty, but it is more comfortable with a sheepskin and even more so with the AirHawk. The AirHawk can bunch up, though...I'd suggest the -R model for maximum comfort for a male rider. As was said, proper inflation is essential. The Medium-Cruiser size is appropriate.

I got mine for the 2,700 mile ride to SpyderFest. It's tops in my book. Never got a sore but, don't squirm around, just a great comfortable ride. A perfect addition to Seal FloorBoards for a long ride. Riode 450 Mi. today, no Prob. I really did..........

To me, it is pretty warm. That rubber can get quite hot and sticky...cover or not. Sheepskin is better, IMO.

Or get a Kontour seat. Has the benefits of an improved support seat (such as Ultimate or Comfort Seat) and the breath-ability of beadriders or an airhawk. Plus they never get hot and have no stitching to leak water into (no cover needed) and they don't really hold water when you leave them out in the rain all night.
Ain't cheap... but generally cheaper than the other aftermarket seats.
You can kinda see the 3d mesh... the last pic with the flash shows the metal lining underneath that reflects heat away.
My wife and I both bought Airhawks and after 1000 miles returned them under their money back guarantee. They didn't even try to talk us out of it or help us understand if we were doing something wrong, just refunded our money no questions asked.
They certainly helped cushioning and weight distribution but I couldn't ever really get comfortable with the constant sensation of motion while they shifted around underneath me. My wife couldn't really put into words the increased pucker factor when you should be relaxed.

We did 750 mile days last summer (in Missouri) with a combo of Airhawks, and sheepskin. We would alternate between the cushions and no cushion for easing of pressure points. Stick with the original Airhawks, the Airhawk 2s have not been getting very good reviews, you get what you pay for. Oh, RTFI concerning the Airhawks, inflation is a hightly personal thing, kinda like what you bought them for.

Utopia backrest and my Airhawk seat, I'm on my 3rd, they do wear out in the seams after several years. 500 plus anytime. That after 2 back operations - more comfortable than any recliner in the house.:firstplace:

ok i finally got the air hawk seat cushion and all i can say is wow its worth the money 198.90 w/shipping. cheaper then a new seat. get one today i think i was the best mod for comfort so far.:thumbup:
