• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Air screen

Many brands

Has anyone put these screens on? My concern is, the number of 'bugs' and leaves that get up against the originals, - now with another cover, in front - how do you get back of them - to clean.

Actually those are from another vendor - Spyderpops sells the KOTT (keep out the trash) and his are simply screens. I'd worry about the ones pictured as they don't allow as much air flow as the KOTT

Yes, I have the ones shown by the OP. They remove just as easily as the KOTT grills sold by Spyderpops. They are attached the same way.

I liked the appearance of them better than the KOTT but that was just my personal preference.

I have used them long enough and on an extended trip where I collected plenty of trash and bugs on them to feel comfortable in saying they let in plenty of air. I monitored my water temperature gage and there was no change that I could detect.

I bought the ones from Pierre at Spyder accessories, they look like yours. I just put them on last weekend, and had the same question. I feel like lots of things could get through the body of the spyder. So, before installing, I took off the rubber around the outside and tried spray adhesive to glue on screen door mesh over the back of the metal.

It didn't work very well. But the screen sort of stayed in place, so I took CA (super) glue and glued the screen down to the larger parts of the metal. Probably hit 20 or 30 places around the metal. Then re-installed the rubber. To do that, I ran a piece of 16 g wire up the rubber, and removed it as I placed the rubber around the metal and screen. It worked about 85%. I just used a blade screw driver to push the remaining screen under after, then CA glued the rubber back where it was.

Now to be honest, I haven't ridden the bike since. Winter is taking it's sweet a$$ time leaving this year, but I am insuring this fri. However, I think the screen will stay on pretty good.... i'll report back after the season.

The installed vents I have have 4 screws to pull out and clean. But after 15K miles I have not had to clean them out. Remember that on the 1330 fans when in city traffic reverse and clean out the bugs. A BRP unexpected feature.
