There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. air ride issue

rock

New member
oh well, does any one know if the air ride on a rts-se5 limited has a manual fill valve??? bummer... i need to pump up the suspention our compresser wont turn on...went for a ride today loved the ride untill i realised that the ride was hard as a brick...

Sorry..!!

ours has a hand crank...but other RT ryders will chime in shortly... Good luck....

Hard as a rock could also mean that the air bag is totally filled. I had that happen as the screw that attaches to the arm that senses the bike's horizontal position fell out and the pump ran until the bag was totally full. The constant running of the pump caused it to fail. Toggle the switch on the console to adjust the pressure and see if you get an error message. If so, you may have the same issue I I had when my bike was new.

Thanks for pointing this out, I neglected to mention it. If it is pumped all the way up, the ACS sensor may be broken or disconnected, the ACS sensor may be faulty, or the air release solenoid may have failed.

ran out and checked those items and the shock is completely down...tried toggling the switch , no response...if i can find the schrader valve i will fill it manually...thank god for extended warranties...thanks all..

As Scotty said, engine must be running, and in gear when you toggle with. Does the display show anything when you toggle it? Should show something, even if its an error. The valve is under the seat, mid position, off to one side, pretty easy to spot. Be careful, do not overfill or you will pop the bag. It it small!!!

I would measure the pressure at the valve before putting any air in just to be sure.

Scotty, should these systems bleed down in between rides? Mine always starts out empty, but pumps up within about three-quarters of a mile from home. It then seems to hold while riding it, but will deflate and lower the bike if it sits for several hours...

i just ran out side and connected the portable comp.. and pumped it up to 60 psi,,, and watched the pressure slowly go back down to zero, bummer... it took about 5 minutes to deflate...wonder if there is a connection that could be loose??? sounds like a dealer issue...

They should not bleed down. If they do, you have a leak in the system. Most common cause is the valve core being loose in the Schrader valve, but there can be other reasons...leak at the air-release solenoid, leaky plumbing (the Spyder, not the rider), or a failed air bag. The Schrader valve is easy to check, fortunately.

I might add that leaks in the system are a common cause for compressor failure. The compressor runs too much and starts too often...until it fails.

How close do you live to Bob

Everyone knows that Bob is full of hot air. He could probably help you if you live close by.

Time for soap bubbles

Sounds like it is time to make a soap and water mixture and either put it in a squirt can or a spray bottle and spray the system down after you pre-load it with some air.

how many miles on iWhat would your gross passenger and driver weight be?

On my 2010 RT SE5 the first problem was that there was a programming issue so the pump would not turn on and the second problem was ACS sensor was broken . You need to go to your dealer and let him investigate you cannot fix the problem yourself .

 I was able to take it up almost 3/16ths of a turn... :yikes: Do you think that might have been enough for the pig to poo in the front yard?

I'm actively lobbying for the Missus to release me from any more yard duty for the day so that I can test it out...

I found the valve Not to be the problem (Even replaced it to see) My Manual will be fine for about 1 1/2 hours IF I pump it to 30 pounds (Carefully) with my Slime compressor plugged in the rear outlet. It rides much Nicer with the bag inflated But a lot of people have the leak down problem?:sour:

On my 2010 RT PE the dealer found a leaking airbag when I took it in for the DPS recall. Now when sitting on the Spyder with engine running and in gear I can see it rise or fall by watching in mirrors as I make adjustments as well as see it show on the display.
