• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Air Filter Choices

After doing some research we have found the K&N part number for the Spyder air filter.

It is K&N part number 33-2006.

We also found out that K&N cross reference chart shows this filter fits a whole list of Chrysler autos, mini vans and trucks.

Which you can check out here on these two links.

Which means of course, that all these vehicles use the same type of "stock" type paper filter as well.

That means a stock style paper filter from any of these autos will also fit in the Spyder as a very cost effective replacement for your "stock" BRP paper filter. This will allow you you easily and cheaply replace your stock paper filter when it gets covered in oil from your crankcase breather.

These filters are going to be much more cost effective than a BRP filter, and when from any of the major filter companies such as Fram, AC Delco, Wix etc. will work as well if not better than the BRP filter.

These filters are made for up to 3.3 liter auto engines that even at their low 5000 rpm will need more flow than our 1000cc engines will. So flow will not be an issue before you ask.

Also, these filters may actually have more flow then the stock BRP filter. Reason is the autos need these to go 30,000 miles between changes in most cars, requiring more pleats to start with to have enough flow after such long service.

I know Pep boys and Auto Zone are K&N dealers and are in almost every town, so getting or ordering a K&N for your Spyder should be easy to do.

But if you want a easy to get, inexpensive "stock" paper style filter there is now more than one choice to help you save time and money when doing so.

My airfilter says purolator(sp)...it's been at several autoparts stores from 5~8.00...Do these other you have metioned fit better, that purolator leaks. I sprayed 3M 77 glue on the edges to get it top seal...gotta check it to see how it did.

My K&N fits good. I just checked it after 2000 miles and no signs of blow by. There is a distinct line where the dirt ends. I think the biggest issue is that the edges of the airbox lid don't seal against the filter like most airboxes.
