I have owned three Spyders, 2015, 2019, and 2021. Been really fortunate not to have any problems with them. There are so many Spyders around my area that have had serious problems and their owners have had problems to find dealers to work on them. There are three dealers in the area who are giving up the line. I was trying to trade my 2021 for a 2025 but could not find a dealer who has any, and the one that did have one would not give me anything for mine. That dealer is not keeping the line so would not be getting any more in. I am 87 years old and would like to stay with a three-wheeler but do not like the way a trike with rear wheels ride. I am going back to a F6B Goldwing two-wheeler.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
After owning 3, lack of dealer support is forcing me to give up on Spyders!

Sorry to hear that your local situation is so unfortunate. But I must admit I'm more than a little impressed that at age 87 you can handle a Gold Wing. At a mere 80 years old, three wheels are more confidence inspiring than two wheels. Gone are the BMW Flying Brick and the Honda CTX700. Thankfully, we have several good dealerships in the greater San Antonio area, at least in our opinion.

It is a shame that many dealerships don't want to support the Spyder. But in some ways, you can't blame them. The Spyder/Ryker seems to be a bit of a step child. BRP makes dealerships jump through some pretty expensive hoops to carry them. They don't typically generate the revenue that other products do. They take up a lot of showroom floor space. And frankly, most mechanics don't like to work on them.
It's a fantastic product, in my opinion. But it suffers greatly with lack of support. I understand that my opinion isn't worth much. But instead of coming out with new products, like the Canyon. I wish BRP would focus on improving the Spyder and dealer support.

Good Monday morning Gerald, at the ripe young age of 92, I quite understand your dilemma. I do have still have my 2020 RT, still changing the oil and filter, and riding it with the Mrs from time to time but continue to rethink keeping it for the reasons you mention. No more than day rides for us, multi-state rides are no more. For the record, I do love riding that thing and so does the Mrs.

Yes Gerald, that was another of the considerations that lead me to parting ways with my RT. It is 5 hours to my nearest dependable dealer (there is one 2.5 hours away, but they are a bit dodgy). Sure, it’s a pleasant backroads ride for a service, but there is always that unexpected breakdown thought in the back of my mind, either at home or out in ”the wilds”, that contributed to my decision.

I never worry about breaking down. 99% of the time I'm right. The other 1% I simply call it 'An Adventure'. Over the years, I think I've probably broken down in just about every vehicle I've owned (I tend to keep them a long time). If I started worrying about it, I think I'd quit driving! I've even taken trips knowing that I would probably break down one way or the other. I went anyway! And I was right to boot! Though I don't necessarily recommend this level of commitment to the drive.
