• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi to all...need the experts opinions on the below ad:

$15,500 Showroom quality 2009 Can Am Spyder RS with only 394.8 miles on it!! Garage kept at all times. Mods are as follows: Custom chromed rear wheel and sprocket --the first one of its kind for the area (dealer installed) -Polished Aluminum Two Brothers Exhaust - (dealer installed) -Juice Box Controller (dealer installed) -Custom chrome hand grips -Leather seat skin -Front trunk liner -12V power outlet kit -Caliper trim kit -Fog lights -Six spoke custom wheel kit for front
-Autocom intercom unit for rider/passenger and/or bike to bike--new in box (Logic model)

Question: Being a novice at these things....is this a good deal? Or..is it worth waiting a bit to see what 2011 brings and then purchase a 2010?

Thanks....all the posts on this website are very informative.

Personally, I think that's a pretty good price

Thanks for the reply....I was also thinking of adding a CalSci Windshield; KewlMetal Risers; BRP Bags; and Foot Pegs

There are brand new '09s still out there with 0 miles for 12-12,750...a few '08s for even less. If you love this one and have no interest in adding or subtracting any parts/accessories maybe it's for you.

I think the price is high. Do better on Ebay . I'm sure you can get a new 09 SE5 for that kind of money from a dealer !:dontknow:

For a couple bucks more you can get a 2010 RS.Also when you buy from the dealer you get full factory warranty as well I think BRP is giving you a wack of BRP money to buy clothing and mods. Don't forget the 2011s will be out soon so they are trying to get rid of the 09s and 10s.

Good luck with what ever you do and welcome

I'd say it is a good deal IF you would have put all that stuff on anyway (or really want all that stuff).

But if you don't really care about the mods that have been done I'd say look for a less expensive one that you can put on what you want.

bought my 2009 RS from the dealer with 34 miles on it and extended warranty (3 years) for 11,800 if that gives you a yardstick.

:agree:
Plus :spyder2:'s will be cheaper when the 2011's come out, but your ryding season will probably be over or close to it.

High in my opinion. Even w/ all the bells and whistles, it normally doesn't count. BUT, if you like all that stuff and you would have spent a ton of money modding it anyway, then maybe you might wanna go for it.

thanks to all who replied....after thinking about it, I agree. I'll be looking for a 2010 RS-S (the color is so cool) and hopefully BRP will be giving out BRP $$$$ to begin the "mod" process.

Whatever or Wherever you buy, check out the warranty that is going with the bike First. Check that all updates have been done and go for a couple of test drives in different conditions to check any DPS problems. Get good insurance cover in case of any breakdown where you may be stuck without a replacement drive. Even new bikes have been back to dealers after a few miles so double check the dealer if you are buying there and see if they have a good reputation for fixing problems.
Then, drive it like a bat out of hell....

:agree:

Sounds nice - nicer if that is what you want.
But, I would add, the price is not bad - you could do better, but it will take some work and luck.

If you can wait till late Sep-Early Oct I would bet you could get a real good deal from the dealer on a 2010 and some goodies and Maryland is warm enough to ride till Christmas!

spyderlovers site

I wish I would have known about Spyderlovers site before I bought mine. I paid $18,500 for my 09 in May this year. I think I really got ripped off. But that is water under the bridge, nothing I can do about it now.

Now that IS a pretty good deal there.

I think dealer isn't going to sell that bike at $15,5 anytime soon. Offer him a grand or two less or tell him that you'll wait him out and look around elsewhere. Summer is half over and soon he will be begging you to buy that bike. Everyone know a bird in hand is worth two in the bush ... he might just take the lower number.

If you have your heart set on an RS-S you may be out of luck waiting too long. They are not all that common and word around here is that once they are gone, they're gone for good until they show up used.

As other have said, if you are going to do all those mods anyway, it might be worth it to make a counter offer of $14,000 and be ready to settle at $14,500.

Did you mention if it is an SE5, cause if not, price seems a bit high for a used bike, even if it only has 400 miles.
