• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

NOT all inclusive, but:

Risers: ESI or Kewlmetal (I have ESI Easy Risers, very happy)
Seat: Corbin, Russell, Ultimate (I have an Ultimate seat, very happy)
Saddle bags: Givi (hard), Corbin (hard), Nelson-Rigg (soft-- what I have, not as nice as the Givi bags but a LOT cheaper), countless other soft options
Highway pedals: Kewlmetal, ESI, Rivco (the latter I have, sadly don't recommend unless you have *shorrrrrt* legs!). Also there are "long floorboard" options that do double-duty as highway footrests, like the Seal Floorboards or Vertika.

I have ridden a Rs for a few miles now. I learned on my first and am now working on my second one.

I just put on the Madstad windshield bracket and the Smoothspyder idler pulley. Of all the things I have put on a Spyder these make the most remarkable difference in the ride. I now sit in a quiet bubble and the engine has gotten so quiet that I find myself forgetting to shift. I am riding without earplugs for the first time. Maybe I just like quiet more than most.

Others: Throttlemeister throttle lock is a good thing on long trips. A good blue tooth GPS is essential for someone like me who is directionally challenged. I use TomTOm but there are better ones. I have a BRP High Touring windshield but the MadStad makes it work well. It was just a windshield without it.. I have a BRP 2 inch riser which I am not certain has any benefit. I am 5' 8" and sort of like everything where BRP started.

I use a BRP tank bag and Passenger seat bag. I have some soft saddlebags that I put on for longer trips. I had the BRP/Givi hard saddle bags but was not that impressed.

My plans are to add a Russell Day Long saddle pretty quick. And Kewl Metal mirror extensions are almost a safety must.

It is all very personal so what others find important may not work for you.

:agree:

I prefer the look of my ESI mirror extensions myself, but that-- along with all the lighting mods (Triple Play, fender tips, Brightsides, etc.)-- were my very first mods. Safety first!

You know those ESi look like they make more sense. I will have to get some now that my windshield is adjustable and I can move it out of the way if need be. Thanks
