• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Adding oil

Just a question to ask out of curiosity. How much oil do you normally add between changes to keep the oil at the FULL line on the dip stick?:f_spider:

I have yet to need to add any oil between changes. I thought i was low on oil as it wasn't showing on the stick at all and then i rode about 10 miles and rechecked the oil after following the book and letting it sit for a bit and it was on the full mark. Just running it idle did not allow it to register i had to actually ride it for a few miles based on my dealers recomendation.

Yes, I have also noticed that just letting it warm-up sitting in the garage will not give the same reading as it would after a ride. I don't know why though.:dontknow:

The coolant comes up to temperature fairly quickly, which is what you read on the gauge. The machinery and oil take somewhat longer to reach full temperature. When they say "operating temperature" it usually means after actual operation, not just a quick idle to guage temperature.

And that makes sense. Oil and water heat at different rates. That is why they call you the Motorcycle Professor.:firstplace:
