Just looking for lil extra comfort next year. Has anyone used any of the products from
https://www.xenasecurity.com? I'm particularly interested in the locks with alarms rather than installing a system on the spyder:thumbup: Also they offer locks that look to offer the same alarm on a standard U lock design so would work great for my new trailer. I hopeopcorn:.
just researching at this point,but like what I see & the alarm is stupid loud at 110 or 120dB:yikes::shocked: Wont be easily ignored like some car alarms

Xena Security Disc Locks

I have a front disc-lock on my Vstrom 1000 & one on my FXR4. I am very happy with it's performance [yep, it's loud!]
I plan on purchasing one for the RT too.

I've used the brake disk lock with a motorcycle. But with the Spyder RT, if you set the parking brake and then turn the front wheels, lock the steering, and take the key, I think you're pretty well covered. :2thumbs:

Of course, if some thief shows up with a tilt-bed truck and a hefty chain winch... well, all bets are off.

Thx & already do so. :agree: As i stated however im looking more towards securing my trailer.
& the sight has adapters to fit the disk lock to chains or cables. I still have my two wheeler i may get one for:thumbup:
I feel a disk lock is not needed on the spyder but may make enough noise if some fool mounts without permission :barf:

You don't have to make your bike "Theft-Proof": that is actually impossible! nojoke
What you should do, is make it tougher to crack than any of the other bikes around it...

It's kind of like the joke where the hikers encounter a bear in the woods. One of them pulls some sneakers out of his daypack, and starts pulling them on.
"Hey! You can't outrun a bear!", his friend exclaims.
He replies, "I'm not planning on it: I just need to outrun YOU!" :shocked:

I have one but don't use it anymore. I used to use it on my 2 wheel bikes. Maybe it was me but the darn thing used to go through batteries too quickly for my liking. It used a whole bunch of those little batteries that look like a coin and they added up in price. It was loud and gave me a little more sense of security but ultimately I ended up using it just as a lock without the alarm feature. They are very well made.

You might have difficulty getting it to fit on your Spyder. Make sure it does if you plan on getting one.

I also got one of those coiled cables and always ran it from the lock to my handle bars as a reminder that it was on there before riding off with it place. There were many stories of people hopping on their rides and forgetting to remove the lock and doing severe damage.

That is just my experience for what it is worth.
