• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Add Cruise Control

Has anyone added Cruise Control to a base 2013 ST?
Since it is Fly By Wire the Rostra system will not work. It seems it would be easy to add the electronic control if it is available.

Thanks for the help. From what I can tell that unit does not work with the Fly By Wire throttle. I tried contacting them to find out if they do have a unit for the 2013 ST but still no answer.

I found that Kaoko makes a throttle assist for the RT, ST and should work on the 2013 and up RS. It is Kaoko part number CAN200. I have a 2013 RS and am going to buy one for mine. The ST and 2013 RS are both fly by wire and use the same handlebars.

Tony Guymer at MCCriuse sent a very helpful e-mail about their cruise control. It included some very detailed instructions. Thank you Tony!

The short version is that their system works with the previous models with cable throttle. I do not believe it will work with the fly by wire of the 2013 ST.

I would prefer cruise to a throttle lock. It is 90 miles of straight road to the next town north. 60 or so to the next town east.

Since the computer likely already has the cruise functionality as part of the software, and the bike's wiring harness is likely the same, I'm inclined to think there might be a chance that there's a chance that you could buy a new right hand switch module and connect it up. Only a dive into the parts manual could confirm that.

It's $288.00 for the new right hand switch/housing control, part # 710003574
I would think it should work. It's time for a guinea pig to try it.

Make that $403. Looking at the wiring diagrams, etc., it looks to me like it would work. There're getting to be enough Spyders out there that some idiots are probably wrecking them. OP could maybe pick up a used switch assembly from a bike salvage dealer somewhere in the country.

Back in the day 2008 Irish to the Max(RIP) and Forrest installed cruise on their Spyders and it was an ongoing problem until it finally got worked out . I know theirs where by cable. Can you order the parts from BRP?:dontknow: I see used parts on Ebay all the time.

Called the dealer. Yes the switch is available. He is checking if something needs to be turned on in BUDS. I will let you know what he finds.

How did I make that mistake. $383 to $410 depending on the vendor. Typically wreckers want half price so that means about $200.

Had the Spyder in for service work and asked about adding cruise. The service man seemed to think there was more to the cruise than just the switch. He said something about speed sensors at each wheel. I said that should be the antilock brake sensors.
So...anyone know yet?
