Thinking of getting one of these as sooner or later my second sense is going to let me down

Anyone else mounted one of these on an RS and if so where?

You can get a mount that fixes to the bars but wasn't sure that would work well on the Spyder as the dash may get in the way.

I did think of removing the safety card and making a flat platform to mount it there.

A guy I ride with runs one and seems to like it. He has it mounted to a bracket he fabbed up that sits behind the windshield. Nothing special. Make sure if you get one to get the visual alert, because you can't hear anything at speed.

I run a Cobra irad 900. It sits behind my frunk lid and connects through an app on my phone. 100% invisible. This works for me because I can also hear it through my sena.

Hadn't thought of putting it in the frunk - I just assumed the lid would interfere but that's a great place to put it. I suppose from a radar point of view it's no different from being behind a Perspex windshield.

I suppose the only issue with having it in the frunk is that you can't change the settings while riding but around here it's all rural riding anyway so I wouldn't need to change it to city mode or whatever.

I was going to get a visual indicator. I've always been deaf anyway, particularly on certain frequencies - e.g. my daughter in "can I have" mode

Didn't help me....

had one for a while on my other bikes but generally when I got the signal I had already been clocked. Worked sometimes but found as long as I don't lead the pack I'm good. Though here is a place you could mount it....

If you remove the throttle assembly there is a spacer there that can be removed and it exposes enough handlebar to put a bar clamp on. I did this with mine, a bit fiddly but even someone with my limited skills is able to do it lol.I got all the bits I needed from Radar Direct, my Adaptive is over 3 years old now and still works great.

Chupaca - Never thought to put a ram mount on the mirror stem, that could be handy for other stuff as well like my camera.

Colin - Good to know it will fit, wasn't sure as there's nothing on the Radar Direct site for Spyders. Doing the TT2000 again next Feb and I'm starting in Picton rather than Dunedin this time - the cops in the north of the SI are less forgiving than the ones in the south when it comes to TT'ers so thought this would be a good idea this time
