• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Guys and Gals,

I'm excited to share that on Thursday of this coming week I will be picking up a beautiful new 2015 Spyder ST Limited. I really can't wait. I've been riding 2 wheelers for over 25 years and it seems that about every 5 years, I lay one down. Well, I did that again about a month ago and broke a couple bones and now say "Enough is Enough!".

After a lot of research, most of which was on this incredible forum, I decided a Spyder was for me.

Anyways, do you have any advice for me with regard to anything special to ask or do at the time of pickup of this wonderful new machine? Also, I'm considering the BEST extended warranty (2 + 3) and my dealer is offering that for roughly $1,150. Can I do better?

Near the top of the general discussion forum is a thread named Dos and Do Nots for New Spyder owners -- read that, it's very helpful especially if you're getting the 998 engine.

Congratulations. Yes much better pricing on BEST

Check with Berts Mega Mall and Pitbull Powersports on the extended warranty. Both offer for under $700 for 3 year extended warranty. IMHO a worthwhile investment. Pitbull is also selling, what appears better, extended warranty.

$679 for three years from Berts Mega Mall--a sponsor on SL. Ask your dealer to match, and see what happens. All :ani29: dealers must honor the warranty and you don't have to buy it from the servicing dealer. Berts is making a mark up on the warranty, so your dealer is trying to do a bit better.

:congrats: & :welcome: from a fellow HOOSIER. As you have a quarter century of riding 2-wheelers behind you, give yourself some time to get use to the Y configuration. Talk to Bryce Page @Bert's Mega Mall about the BEST extended warranty. Put Spyderfest 2017 on your 2-DO list.

Do you have any experience on ATVs or snowmobiles? The Spyders feel most similar to them. nojoke
 
New Spyder

Congrats on your new Spyder!! I made the switch to 3 wheels after 40 years of two wheeling. My Spyder really put the Fun back into riding got me. Don't forget to post pictures!!

I had no experience on 2 wheels but have ride 4 Wheeler's for as long as I can remember. They ride the same. You will love it.

In our group more and more 2 wheelers are going over to either trikes or can am's. My preference is the can am which I consider to be the cadallac out there. Our group now has 5 can am members along with the trikes and 2 wheelers. Yep, as we age, we get smarter and know when to make the change. And it is one heck of a fun change. Again, welcome aboard!!!!!!!
