• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A STRANGE THING

BLACK WIDOW

Yesterday I installed a set of mirror extensions and did a short test drive to check things out. Today when riding I noticed that when I turn on my signal lights (either right or left) the green indicator arrows (on the console) seem to both light up no matter which signal light is on. The signal lights work fine but it is just the indicator arrows. What I am not sure of is maybe they have always done this:dontknow:I don't see how the mirror extensions would cause this in any way. Does anyone have any ideas?

The green indicator in the dash lights the same no matter which blinker you have on. Its not two seperate lights for left and right. If I'm wrong, then mine is messed up too. :D

Yeah that's true, but when your paying this much $$$ for a bike it would be nice to know which signal is blinking, don't you agree?

:agree: with all comments above. However, get some mud flap lights from the magic man and you will then know which signal is blinking.

Maybe you should have thought about this before you spent all that $$$, or did you even pay attention when you test rode it?

I installed red LED lights in my dash just for that reason, wired in parallel with each turn signal light.
BRP should have installed a divider between the two arrows and used two bulbs :gaah:
Before you ask....the green bulb comes on when my fan does.

It si just there to remined you>>>>>

>>>>>> that a signal is on! Just in case for some reason, such as a shalow turn angle, it does not go off. I have a coulple of corners that the turn is so gentle that the signal remains on, this happens on the Subaru as well.

Why only one? Guess they figure you know which direction you are turning. If you forget such things you need more help that a simple light can supply!

Right on!

I agree with Skunk - if you can't remember which way you hit the turn indicator - I'm not sure I want you riding on the roads - :D. You should be looking at the road instead. It's on a timed delay to turn off.

Why worry

Just push in on the switch and it will turn off the signals regardless of which side is flashing.

It still would be a nice feature, although even some cars used to have a single turn indicator. One useful aspect of dual indicators in cars is the feature that shows burned out bulbs. The indicator light either flashes very fast or stays on solid, depending on the nature of the bulb failure and the system. Clues you in to take a look and tells you which side to look on. Of course using NMN LEDs would eliminate the need to know about such things. :D

:agree: Since the exact same effort is required to cancel either turn signal, what difference does it make?

Especially with the previously mentioned self cancel feature after a certain time/distance. Do you think we have beat this to death?:bdh:

I am going to use your "design" for the led signals. What a genuis.:2thumbs:
