• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A Spyder RT that will go 200 mph!

A gentleman approched me the other day and asked if the Spyder if it would really go 200. I told him maybe, but not with me on it.

I've been out of warranty for over a year.
That's why I can start taking stuff off and putting stuff on.

Very liberating really.

they are not going to void your warranty over something like this, or anything you post.

It is sad that sales people think they know, I had a dealership in grand rapids,MN that did not know they sold spyders in the front and did not know how to start one in the back. Its even more sad that they are the closest dealer to me.

Good news is that ann was in vegas to set the dumbass straight. spyderlovers unite

His face must have turned pink....

I would hate to have seen his face when you called him out on it in front of the customer. :yikes:

Seth, I was only joking with Roger about voiding the warranty. Guess I should've added a laugh icon. By the way, how you doing up there in the North Country?

Some of the best Salesmen, Are the ones that don't know the product that there selling,
This way they can say anything with a straight face.

oh, I am doing pretty good got the death machine back with a entire lower end, the starter wore a hole in the case so I was spyderless for 3 weeks which was just enough time to get sideswiped by a lady while driving my ridgeline which has 6k in damage which is now getting fixed.

I know it may sound funny but it was 82 degrees up here today and rider heaven. My g/f is now riding a 01 rc51 with art pipes and doing a bang up job of doing what ann did in this thread, proving to people how it is by doing it.

Since my second incompetent dealer (yes Tulsa might be Spyder hell) replaced the display they broke installing my HIDs the speedometer has been sticking at 160. So I spent yesterday cruising everywhere at 200 MPH. LOL

200 mph on any Spyder?

With the aero dynamics of a shoe box? You could put a friggin Formula One engine in it and maybe go that fast . . . . but who would want to? Around this part of the country we have to have a a 'deer tag' just to get a bike license . . . before the updated DPS, 60 MPH while passing a truck felt like 200mph . . .

Wow......... Just wow... It "Might" get to 200mph if dropped at around 40,000 feet and had enough time to free fall... :roflblack:

I used my gps when I topped out at 95, give it enough time it would likely get close to 100 but speedy Gonzolus a spyder RT is not. Shame, my old Suziki 650 Burgman did an honest 105 on GPS and that was a scooter, lol. Good news is it gets to 85-90 like XXXX through a goose, lol.

Is'nt 200 mph equivilent to 320 kph..Its been along time since I did my guzinta's:lecturef_smilie:but I think thats close:opps:

200 MPH RT, I did it!!!!

Who says you can't do 200mph on an RT? I did and it was well over 24 hrs of avg speed and in MPH! ha ha ha, this was my readout during my last run after Lamonts BBQ down to the dragon, when I sw this I had to stop to take a picture of it. So I can claim that I not only did 200mph but I did it over an average of over 24hrs! The best was I was also pulling a trailer!! Hmm anyone can top that? ha ha ha. You gotta love the gremlins that are inside these things!!!!

200mph RT.jpg

I was at Bike Fest in Las Vegas today and there was a 2012 RT Limited on display. As I was walking up to it I hear the sales guy tell a couple that it will go 200 mph. :banghead: I said are you serious and he said yes if it didn't go that fast they wouldn't make the speedo go that high.. So I exIplained to them that the Spyder is Canadian and the speedo is built for Kph. I just hate it when sales people don't have a clue as to what they are selling.
