• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was at Bike Fest in Las Vegas today and there was a 2012 RT Limited on display. As I was walking up to it I hear the sales guy tell a couple that it will go 200 mph. :banghead: I said are you serious and he said yes if it didn't go that fast they wouldn't make the speedo go that high.. So I exIplained to them that the Spyder is Canadian and the speedo is built for Kph. I just hate it when sales people don't have a clue as to what they are selling.

I was curious on how fast 200 kilometers was, 124 mph.

Very sad indeed. Sales people need to know what they are talking about. If the salesperson was just feeding a line of bs in order to make a sale, or impress the customer, either reason is just cause to stay away from that dealership.

Nothing unusual for a salesman to say,
The old saying for Seafarers is Any port in a storm.
For Salesman it's Any lie to make a sale.:ohyea:

I tell people all the time it goes 200 MPH when they ask, and to prove it I show them the speedometer nojoke. Then I will tell them the truth.

while tanking up, a young teen came to look at my SPYD3R and noticed the speedo and asked, "have you done 200 mph on this?" i told him, "no, i chickened out at around 180"... in time, he'll learn... until then, he'll dream about owning his own SPYD3R...
in actuality, i've had mine up to 91 mph, and chickened out - at 64 yrs of age, i just want to enjoy it, i don't want it to kill me...
ride safely, and keep the rubber on the road....:2thumbs:

But you've got to admit that it's fun to let bystanders see that analog speedo and say, "Wow; 200 mph!"
Let them draw their own incorrect conclusions! :roflblack:

I took the '10 RTS to 110mph on a long straight road. Backed off at that speed. I have heard that the RT tops out at 165 mph. Most i've done was 135 on a 750 kawi. However the fastest speeed I have traveled at was 650 mph. That was an F4D Phantom.

I just wish my RT could make it to 110 mph, mine bags out around 95 on the gps and if I am going up a bit of a hill its more like 90.

I got mine up to around 90 or so when I was riding from St Louis to the Space Coast and that was enough. Usually cruise the freeway around 70-75. That's MORE than enough for me.

I had mine up to 101 last weekend but that was all I could get out of it. It is one thing for us to joke with people about Spyders going 200 mph but it is entirely another to have a salesman actually tell people that they will go that fast. This dealer has a bad reputation for having uneducated sales people.

Sadly, they're not the only ones either.

I had to see what the wife's RT would do so on ramp to off ramp I gave it full throttle. One way I got 100mph and coming back I got 104mph. I did expect more but that's all it would do.
