There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The dealership I bought my Spyder from closed their doors back in January. I have visited 3 other dealerships since then, and am going to keep checking out more of them for just in case. At this time it is at least a 2 hour ryde one way for me to get to a dealer.
I was going to add my information to the helpful Spyder owners list for SC, then realized if anyone needed assistance it would take me longer to get there than it probably would for them to get the problem resolved. One of the benefits of country living I suppose.

Wow! Wish our dealerships were that close! Our choices are East Tennessee ATV - 48 miles or Alcoa Good Times - 78 miles.

Wow...I guess I AM lucky. My dealer is 15 miles south of my house and they have a second dealship about 25 miles north of me.

My dealer is 19 miles away with no city driving.:2thumbs:I bought mine at C&C in Brighton and so far, no complaints, but then again, no serious issues. They did the 600 mi and 6,000 mi service along with DPS update. Since I had to drive 60 miles, they always did the work while I waited. Their Spyder tech seems to be up on things. I have not had any of the nagging issues like brake squeal, sticky parking brake, etc. My only disagreement was regarding the muffler burn spot which they said was not warranty as discoloration was normal. I now have a dealer 10 miles away at US-127/US-12, so I probably will not be back to Brighton.

I think I had about 2000 miles on my spyder when I brought it back because of the paint peeling on the stock muffler. They installed a new stock muffler under warranty. The new muffler paint appears to be shinier than the original. And, I know that many find the stock muffler ugly; it looks fine to me.
I travel 150 miles round trip to my dealer. There is one closer at about 30 miles one way; but, I enjoy the longer trip and I like the dealership where I purchased the spyder.

I am taking my first "longish" ride with my riding group tomorrow. Though it is only 400 miles round trip I wonder what would happen with a breakdown when the dealer network is so small.
Tomorrow I am riding from the Philadelphia area to Binghamton NY, and Was wondering if I broke down some place en-route what I would have to do?
Towing charges can be very high and I know my insurance carrier only supplies towing for a very short distance than you are on your own.

They told me the belt adjustment would be $45 per Spyder!
You'll be close to Rusty Palmer in Honesdale Pa. I have a place across the Delaware River near Narrowsburg N.Y. Been doing business with them since 1988. Good people.

My dealer is 246 miles round trip into crazy roads of St. Louis. So I don't just "drop by when I'm in the neighborhood" too often. The good news, though, is that there are lots of awesome restaurants close by so I always try to get in there at about 11:00 and then can relax and enjoy a good meal while I try to patiently wait for them to finish. I never mind a ride if there's the promise of good food involved.

Peeling muffler paint and travel
That is interesting that the peeling paint on the muffler is covered. I have 15000 miles on mine and it is starting to peel. Wonder if it would be covered.
I was traveling 85 miles one way for service and now I have been told that SLO Motorsports is no longer a dealer<?> and I will have to travel 130 miles one way to the next closest dealer. When I call SLO they said that they can still service the spyder and hook it up to the buds system but that it was a long story. So there is a dilemma.

Buy a Krikit for $20 and do them yourself. Piece of cake!
Or bring them to me and I'll do them for $44 each!
