• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

As of the first of august we became proud owners of a 2014 RT Limited . When we picked it up from the dealer we went for a short ride > What a ride . It was smooth and had plenty of power . Now the question . When I shift the spyder it clunks ,rather loudly . I have tried shifting at different rpms and have found that if I shift it at 4000 rpms it will not clunk . Is this normal ? Oh by the way it is the SE6 model . Thanks in advance for any info .:helpsmilie:
 
Shifting from neutral to first or reverse you will hear a clunk. Up shifting from first to sixth gear should be quiet. When shifting to a higher gear are you letting off the throttle? If you are, do not let off the throttle.

:agree: The first and reverse will always clunk but the others should be smooth. Follow the above suggestions on not letting up on the gas and higher rpms..:thumbup:

Twist the loud grip, and DON'T let go! :shocked: The computer will do the heavy lifting for you! :thumbup:
 
newbie question

I'm not rolling off the gas when shifting . It clunks when up shifting in any gear . We had a ST Limited 2013 and shifted it at 5000 rpms or higher with no clunks . I've used the ECO mode on this RTL and it clunks . Will drive it tomorrow and get it good and warm and check the oil level . It didn't do this on the first ride we took . Maybe dealer didn't quite fill it up . I will say this . The difference between ST Limited and the RT Limited to me is like night and day . The handling on the RTL is way better .
 
I have a 2014 also and it will KLUNK going into 1st or Reverse after a startup but will shift quietly up and down the gears once your rolling along...
 
Try shifting at between 2500 - 3000 rpms. I mostly use 2750. Always a clunk into first from neutral, but should be relatively seemless after that.

Great at advice, try the above. I even go to 3500 to 4000 sometimes and is real smooth. Eco mode does seem to shift rougher.
 
Klunk

I had been wondering about the klunk when shifting to first from neutral on my 2012 RT-S. Glad to know its a normal thing. But about the not letting off the gas, when I've done that the :spyder: seems to jump???
