... It's the only one I've ever made!![]()
Did they even hook it up to BUDS? It would be difficult to get a Spyder to go into limp mode without throwing some diagnostic codes. A problem could have developed with the O2 sensor mod, or the trailer wiring, but that should be pinpointed at least to system by BUDS. I'd tell them they had better prove it before they throw any rocks there. It sounds like they are just guessing. A three year old can do that. A technician is supposed to be a bit more scientific about it in this day and age.Well it's been there since the 20th of Feb. and still nothing has been fixed. First they told me they set a code and the power steering was working. Then they were moving one of there new ones and realized that mine wasn't working. I gave them the numbers of shops that have fixed the power steering so that they could ask what they did but so far no progress has been made. As far as the spyder going into limp mode they first said it was the fuel pressure regulator that I modified per Kens intake mod. Then they told me they think it's the Bushtec trailer hitch wiring, even though I have thousands of miles with both on my spyder.
It sounds like they are just guessing.
We have hit the two month mark now since I took my spyder in to fix the power steering that hadn't worked for eleven thousand miles. I have heard
more BS about what is wrong than you could believe. Now they are saying it is the steering column itself, something about it being magnetized or something and won't let it recalibrate. Trying to reach BRP is impossible it seems.
Well two months and 4 days and I pick it up. I had a message today saying it was ready. Lamont called in a favor and a BRP rep contacted the dealer and now my power steering is fixed. I'll go get it in the morning and see. It should be like riding a brand new one since the power steering never worked from day one. I have other motorcycles so I wasn't left without but my dad who is almost 89 has been missing it like crazy. We will drive over to the dealer in Tulare and I'll let him drive it back home so that he can be a happy camper.:yes:hyea:

Oh man, me too. That's good news Bro. Hope that will be the last time in the shop. :doorag:
I told the service manager about issues with the steering that I've read here and he said you can't believe things you read on the net. He said he wasn't aware of any problems with the steering.
