• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks for this ….. After decades of owning snow-mobiles ( all types & makes ) I think the bigger issue is Traction not more power …. spinning the track gets you nowhere, and the more power the engine has the easier it is to just dig a hole and remaining in place ….. jmho …. Mike :ohyea:
 
I find it interesting that every time someone posts a thread that involves an engine with more power the majority of comments are either......"speed kills" related or "can't put the power to the ground" related. I just don't understand why people would complain about more power. The rider is in 100% control of how much and of "how" that power is used.

In this specific case the 850 turbo (2-stroke) has been released in a Ski-Doo backcountry which is a mountain sled. That means it travels in steep (sometimes very steep) terrain in deeeeeeeeep snow at higher altitudes. The sled also has a long track and deep lugs (3"). I'm sure this engine will also be offered in trail orientated sleds and I'm sure those who buy those sleds will love the extra power. Again, the rider is in 100% control of how much and of "how" that power is used.
 
Rob, agree with a lot of what you said but one point. Today people can afford and desire more engine than they can control. Hate to read about the accidents, especially with inexperienced operators.
