• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A new Can Am riding gear survey

This AM I checked my junk mail box as usual, and there was a survey for Can Am riding gear.

Recommend that if you receive the survey that you take the 3 minutes or so to fill it out.

They asked about styles of gear that we would like and used many other brands images to get your opinion. Interesting: it appears they did not show the Firstgear brand in comparison to many other well known ones.

They were fishing for whether or not we would be willing to pay more just because it was branded Can Am. I gave them my opinion of course on the comments portion.

Hope I don't blow their survey--but these are my thoughts anyway.

I got this email yesterday too, they said they are giving away a $200 gift card for CanAm stuff. I wonder if it is one card or several. $200 is a cheap cost for a survey.

Got mine this morning and gave it a quick run-through... Pretty painless and I'm looking forward to receiving my winnings! :roflblack:

I got the survey too. Honestly didn't like any of the styles presented to me. But I commented that can am needs more gear targeted to riding in extreme heat, such as that found in the desert.

Riding Gear

Took survey last night and told them I did not like their colors. High visibilty colors are my preference for a jacket.

I'll probably use my $200 to purchase another First Gear jacket or pantz.

Oh-Oh ... it's a gift card.
That should cover an hour of service at the dealer!

Stopped looking at their apparel line when the catalog had a grand total of one XL Tall pants to choose from, and..... 36 waist(OK -that works) but *35 inseam. They should relabel them HWT - high water tall. Oh well... If anyone knows of a brand that actually has TALL stuff I'd appreciate a heads up.

Can't speak about the pants but @ 6'8" I find first gear to have long enough arms in a jacket.

If you are wanting Firstgear, Baja Ron is the place to check. He has pretty good prices.

I have two pair of FG pants, two textile jackets, and two perforated leather jackets. I like them all.

The two can-am jackets that I have--one textile, one leather are comparable quality--but much more pricey than the FG.

I did the survey too but there was no place at the end to enter anything....name, address, ect. I hope it's not just a way to get you to do the survey. :wrong:
