• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A milage solution that really works

On the recommendation of a friend, who has already tired this, I drained my gas tank, and filled it with ETOH free premium. The RT runs smoother, significantly faster -- and it made a HUGE difference in milage - I've gone 100 miles on 1/2 tank (I'll report on the calculated milage, when I fill it again).

Kind of a pain to find it up here in "Greenville", but it is available at a couple of marinas. I tried it in my new truck, with no real difference, and so, had low expectation for the Spyder. NOT SO !!!! If you can find some, try it.

It's pretty well documented that ethanol burns cooler therefore producing less energy and poorer gas mileage. I envy those who can get the pure stuff. We in the Houston area and surrounding counties have only 10% ethanol to buy. Nothing good can come from ethanol in gas.

There is also a "Pure-Gas" App for the iPhone that tells you ware the 0 ethanol station are, handy were on the road.

Last year I started using an additive it removes the ethanol from the gas. Very satisfied with how Miss spider runs as well as my improved gas mileage. Yesterday well on my way to Spyderfest found a small town that had gas with no ethanol added. got 38 miles per gallon on that tank I like those numbers. If I can find "pure" I use it.

Octane and ethanol make a big difference in gas mileage and how your engine runs. I miss 93 octane and clean gas. Last week price of gas in this area was $3.96 for 87 octane and $4.19 for 91 octane. Went to N.H.for bike service fueled up $4 for 93 octane 10 ethanol. One out of two isn't bad.

May I ask what additive are you using? :dontknow: We don't have any ethanol free stations anywhere near us. :( My Maxx could use some help with mileage. :banghead:

The only thing good about Ethanol is the farmers making money from it.

You know that non-ethanol fuel is actually cheaper?

I've used "Startron" in my gas for the last year - it helps keep the bike running smoothly, but the milage difference doesn't pay the cost difference ( I use it anyway). Using ETOH free gas did all of that and bumped my milage +10 mpg. Now I'm trying to upload the stations as POI to my GPS.

I use the Lucas Oil additive. Walmart carries it and a few other brands. I like the way Spydee runs and maybe its coincidence but the initial stalling problems in the first week disappeared.
