• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A "Low-Tech" GPS Mount

I already had a Garmin 255w GPS and chose a low-tech option to mount it to my Spyder. It consists of a Givi GPS Holder, a GPS sun shade, and a 12-volt extension cord from Radio Shack. Total cost = $100. It is weatherproof, easy to read (except with direct sunlight on it), glove-friendly, secured to the handlebars with long velcro straps on the Givi bag, and removable in 30 seconds. I power it from the 12-volt plug in the trunk. See the photos below.

Great Idea.:2thumbs: I love seeing people use things already available and some inginuity too come up with solutions.

I use a sun shade and it does not really help much.

At first, I used a different sun shade and it made very little difference. This one is larger and is made of a flexible plastic, so it is firm. It is about 3 times larger than the previous shade I tried and really does help. Apparently, it is also used as a shade for small DVD players and laptop computers. Where did you buy the GIVI item? I found them for $61 + shipping and $65 free ship.. But I have never purchased from either company before...

I bought the GIVI GPS Holder from HelmetHead Cycle.com for $65. Shipping was free and it arrived promptly with no problems. I have had it for a while, and the quality is very good. It is well-suited to the large handlebars of the Spyder, and it does not move around during a ride.
