• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

600 mile service complete!

Just got back from my 600 mile service (I had 928 on it when I got there).
Bert's Mega Mall in Covina, Ca. was great! I highly recommend them.
Everywhere else around here quoted me over $400 for the 600 mile service. Bert's with a 20% coupon did it for $265

Anyway I got a good bill of health and some warranty updates. As some may recall I bought a used 2011 RT-S with only 450 miles on it. It had never been into a service center since Jan 2012 when it was purchased by the original owner.

So they did the oil change and 3 Warranty / Service Bulletin items.

1) Updated Throttle Body Actuator Protection.
Anyone know what this was? I don't recall reading this bulletin on the BRP site?

2) ECM and TCM Software Updates.
Now let me just say. I knew it needed one but when riding home to me, the thing steered easier! I did not seem to have to push as hard to turn it. It rides way better to me..... Coincidence? Or was there a DPS update?

3) Middle Side Panel Grommet Replacement (2011 models only). These I knew about but I had inspected them myself so I did not loose a panel. But good they replaced them anyway.

Then they also replaced this part under warranty:
1 ENDI BUDIONO - MRS
Inspect/Repair Unit 11-0017 ENDI BUDIONO-Servi

What the heck is that?

4) They also did the water infiltration fix to my radio.... Whatever that is. The guy probably freaked when he saw my home made Bluetooth setup :)
I have to go look and see what they did there.

Anyway, I am all good feeling now :)

Thats a really great price on the initial service... Did they do the full checklist that BRP recommends for the first service?

Sounds like you got a great price and great service. Any one have an idea where I can get a BRP check list for this first check up.

Good news..!!

Let her rip..!! Great price..glad they got it all up to date with updates etc. Now that your cleared for take off. ?git..!! :ohyea:

The Throttle Body Actuator Protection is when you turn off your Spyder it will hold the throttle body plates closed until the engine is completely cooled down. It makes restarting a hot engine easier. You should be able to hear a high pitch whine for about 40 minutes. BRP came out with a bulletin in Sept. 2011, I think, don't quote me on the exact date. I was hearing the whining sound and found the answer here on Spyderlovers somewhere.

Must have missed mine. I always say $250-$300 and even that scares a lot of people. :roflblack::roflblack:
