• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. And, it's really hard to believe, too! Of late, I have been doing a lot more Spyder riding than posting. As most of you can see, I have not been around much. Lol!
But, I have been logging the miles. It seems, I seldom go for a ride without going around 100 miles or more. But, it's so easy! Last weekend, I rode 251 miles on a trip to Camden, TN. And, then on Sunday, we rode down to Tupelo, MS. That was good for 272 miles.

One thing to note here is, that I have had no real issues with my Spyder. Nothing to really speak of. In my signature, you can see my mods. The Hindle, I installed yesterday.

Is the 'newness' wearing off? Not even close! And, I sometimes get asked if I have any regrets not getting a 2 wheeler. Nope! None! And, yes; I have still allow extra time on my rides to talk to inquisitive folks. I love it!

I've had mine for just over a year (it was one year on 2/9) and I love it just as much as the first day I rode it and I'm pushing 11K miles. I also get as much attention as the first day I picked it up. I actually had someone snap a picture of me on it while sitting at a light in the dark this morning on my way into work. When I commute into the city it takes me 15 - 20 minutes just to even think about leaving my space and heading home. The Spyder is the best thing that ever happen to me (next to meeting and marrying my husband).

I can heartily agree with you both. We picked up our SE5 11-18-08. I have had no issues with it. Have 4800+ miles and loved every minute we have ridden. We are both retired, so we have more time to ride than most. The car sits until it's time to drive to town (50 miles one way) to buy monthly groceries, or to get something that the Spyder can't handle. Rode 2 wheels since 1966, and have no, none, nadda regrets in going to the Spyder. Ride Safe!

I hate that I didn't get to see you and your spyder while you where in Tupelo. I'll probably get one in late March or April, maybe we can do some riding next time you're in the area.

Indeed! We went down to have lunch at Vanelli's Greek Italian Restaurant. Very good food!

Yeah, they have some great food. Later this spring they should get the patio going with some local bands. Did you come in on 45 from Corinth or take a scenic route?

Greg: I went through Camden today on the way to Paris; not on spyder though .

Let me know if you plan a trip near Nashville, maybe we can meet up and ride awhile.

 We took Hwy 57 out to 45. We then took Hwy 45 South all the way in. That's a really nice Hwy, too! :)
On the way back we brought Hwy 45 North to Hwy 4 West over to Ripley. Great 2 laner! Then; we took 15 to 72 up to Hwy 7 North..

Wow!!! 5,000 in 3 months! :clap:That's really good! And, Happy Birthday, too!!

I did a 165 miler yesterday. Fantastic!

Good to hear positives!!

I am glad to be reading positve posts about the Spyder. I have been reading about all the SE5 problems as well as a few other ones and wondering, having second thoughts about getting one. My dealer has a silver and a yellow SM5 as well as a new red SE5. I demoed a silver SM5 last September while new tires were being put on my Yamaha motorcycle. It is quite different, being used to two wheels, but I think I can get used to it. D. Reinhard, Ohio

You can do it, just forget every thing you learnt about how to ride a mo'cycle and go ride :spyder:its a different animal so to speak.. (IMHO the SM5 is still better, more like fun,but thats just my thoughts).
