• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

21,000 Miles

This past week I reached a new mileage milestone on :spyder2:, I have 21,311 miles. WOHOOOOOO!!!!!

Here is a picture: View attachment 153634. I work full time in the work force. Also I have the rest of this month/and next month to ride. Then putting spyder into hibernation :banghead:. I'm hopping to reach the 22,000 mileage before hibernation.

Congratulations on the miles!! That means a lot of great rydes! Now, that part about the hibernation... I have to do the same thing here in Northern Indiana... I sadly :( put Hi-Yo Silver in storage and say, "Good bye, old friend. See you in the spring!" Maybe global warming will make us like the south so we can ryde all year long!

That is too bad that BRP does not offer any mileage patches. But I'll check Cat Specialties (vendor) to see if they have any. Deanna

There is a story that goes with the BRP mileage pins.

To get one, you had to register on their web site, you had to send them a picture of your odometer, the social security # and blood type of your 2nd cousin, etc.

It then took an inordinate amount of time to get the pin. I believe they were 10K, 25K, 50K, and 100K. The way the pin system worked, it was how many miles you had on a "particular" spyder, not total spyder miles. That in itself can make for another discussion thread--but is now a moot point because the pins are no more.

I have one of the 100 K pins and an spare in case I lose it. They sent both to me without asking (at the end of the pin program)--guess I got lucky.

I believe I sent a 10K one to Bob for his wife (a long time ago).

21,000 miles

Way to go Deanna. I know you were shooting for 20,000 this riding season and you blew right by that. What is your total for this season? I have about 400 to go to hit 20,000 and that will be 6000 for the season so far. Ride on. Ride Safe.:riding:

:helpsmilie:How many tires have you used to get those miles? Any brand better the factory? Thanks, Little Blue
I have only used 1 set of tires to get my current miles.

The rear tire is a General Altimax RT 43 ( size: 215/60 R15) this tire is rated for 30,000m miles no problems with this tire. The original tire was changed @ 5,824. I am running 26PSI.

Several other spyder owners on here are also running the General Altimax RT 43,/and the Continental Contiprocontact maybe some of them will chime in.

The front tires that I am running are: Continental Contiprocontact (Size: 165/60 R 15) these tires were changed @ 12,807. No problems and I am running them @ 19PSI.

The General's and the Continental Contiprocontact are a good brand.

I have about 689 miles to go before hitting the 22,000 miles. So far I have 5,290 miles. I'll post the total miles, that I end up with for the season.
