There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. 2023 vs 2024-26 Spyder RTL - Worth it?

Need some help deciding on what year Spyder RTL. I’m pretty settled on the Limited or Sea to Sky but haven’t decided on the year.

From what I understand, the display was updated to a 10.25” with CarPlay in 2024 but I’m wondering if it’s worth the price. I’ve seen 2023 and older with substantial savings over the price of the 24 and up.

Other than the display, were there any other significant upgrades? Haven’t seen any videos directly addressing this, want to get the most bang for buck but don’t want to regret not springing for the more recent model.

Thanks!

From what I've read, BRP improved the overall operation of the Spyder in 2024 with regards to the reverse throttle operation. (Twisting backwards on the throttle, i.e., trying to close it MORE than zero, activates an electrical switch). What I've found on my 2024 that seems to be lacking on earlier models:
  • Twist backwards right after key on to dismiss the safety screen and be able to start the engine (very quick and easy)
  • Shift into reverse by twisting the throttle backwards and downshifting from Neutral (very quick and easy)
  • Twist backwards to cancel cruise control (like tapping on the brake without tapping on the brake)
It looks like sometime previous to 2024 there was a cluster of controls on the gas tank right in front of the seat, with four-way arrows and other buttons. On my 2024 those are no longer there, but there are lots of additional small controls on the left handlebar control cluster. Maybe they're more convenient to access while you're riding, but they are pretty tiny and it's easy to hit the wrong one. I don't know for sure what model year that change happened.

Caveat: I've ridden only a bit over 3000 miles on my Spyder, not quite enough to really learn all those small controls.

AI, Differences Between 2023 and 2024 Can-Am Spyder RT Sea-to-Sky

The 2024 Can-Am Spyder RT Sea-to-Sky is essentially the same as the 2023 model in terms of engine, chassis, and comfort features, but it gets a major tech upgrade and a color refresh.

Key 2024 changes:

  • New 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay integration, replacing the 2023’s 7.8-inch LCD.
    • Works with BRP Connect for navigation/audio, plus Apple CarPlay for iPhone users.
    • Android users can still connect via Bluetooth for audio, but navigation is limited
  • Hidden antennas integrated into the body for a cleaner look
  • Return of the Vegas White Satin colorway for the Sea-to-Sky package
  • Minor styling tweaks and updated LED lighting
What’s the same:

  • Rotax 1330 ACE inline-three engine, 6-speed semi-automatic transmission with reverse, Sachs suspension, Brembo brakes, and 16-spoke Moka wheels
  • Luxury touring features: adaptive foam seats, adjustable electronic windshield, heated seats/grips, cruise control, LED lighting, storage capacity, and trailer compatibility
  • Standard equipment: BRP Audio system, stability control, traction control, ABS, power steering, hill hold control, and security system
Practical implications:

  • If you want Apple CarPlay for navigation and audio, the 2024 is the better choice.
  • If you’re happy with the 2023’s BRP Connect system and don’t need Apple CarPlay, the 2023 offers more value for the same comfort and performance.
  • The 2024’s new display is larger and more modern, but the core ride quality and comfort remain unchanged.
Bottom line:
The 2024 Sea-to-Sky is a tech upgrade with a bigger screen and Apple CarPlay, while the 2023 is a feature-rich, lower-cost option with BRP Connect. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize smartphone integration or want to save money.

For 2025:
  • If you value durability and tire longevity, the 2025’s XPS tires are a worthwhile upgrade.
  • The color and display are cosmetic but may affect personal preference.
  • The Sea-to-Sky trim is essentially the same in both years, so the main differences are the tire package and color.
  • Color: The 2025 Sea-to-Sky is offered in Dusk Metallic, while the 2024 was shown in Vegas White Satin.
  • For buyers, the 2024 may be slightly more attractive in color and could be cheaper if rebates apply, while the 2025 offers newer tires and a different color option.
In short, the 2025 Sea-to-Sky is mechanically identical to the 2024, but it comes with newer, more durable XPS tires and a different color scheme, with the same Sea-to-Sky trim and tech features

For 2026:
Key 2026 upgrades and changes

  • New paint options:
    • Mars Red Metallic with Liquid Titanium trim and Ridge wheel design is now available.
    • Vegas White Satin returns as an option.
    • These colors are part of a refreshed palette across the RT, RT Limited, F3-T, and F3 Limited trims, with Mineral Blue and Pearl White also available.
  • Exclusive accessories:
    • A new exclusive vehicle cover adds both functionality and style, improving storage and protection.
  • Design tweaks:
    • The Sea-to-Sky retains its premium look but gains a more modern, aggressive stance with the new Mars Red Metallic and Ridge wheels.
  • Core touring features (same as 2025):
    • Apple CarPlay-compatible 10.25" touchscreen with handlebar controls
    • Adjustable electric windshield
    • Premium LED headlights
    • 4- or 6-speaker sound system (4 without rear trunk)
    • Backup camera (standard on Sea-to-Sky)
    • Traction control, power steering, cruise control, reverse function
    • Six-speed transmission with paddle shifters

I had a 2021 RT LTD we bought new.

We traded it for a 2026 Sea to Sky on my wife's insistence and instruction.

At first, I wasn't convinced it would be worth it. At this stage I think it was worth it after all.

The seat is miles better, the display is miles better, the tires are miles better. I think the new handlebar control clusters are much better. The hydraulic seat and rear trunk struts are better. The multiple level settings for the driver's heated grips are an improvement. All little things, but they add up.

I don't care about some of the new items, the rear view camera, the new design wheels, they're not something I'm really bothered about. I don't care about the new colors, this one's white for instance.

If I was looking for a Spyder, my choice would be a 2024 or later Sea to Sky.
