• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2022 OEM RT S2S seat versus redone Russell Day Long seat.

Well... I received my RTL take off seat earlier this week from Russell Day Long. Its build date was Dec 30, and it came back on the 21st. I purchased the take off RTL seat for $125, as I wanted to keep my OEM RT S2S seat intact. My seat was spec'd to have black vinyl sides with graphite vinyl inserts/half moon stitch pattern. Being 232#, I also spec'd heavy duty suspension and retain stock heat. The total cost with return shipping was $680. Compared to the OEM S2S seat, the Day Long seat is 13oz heavier, 2.5" wider and a solid 1" thicker in density not including the winglets. Being in Wisconsin, the seat won't be used for at least a couple months. Looking forward to trying it out though. :)

OK... After spending a couple of hours removing panels to install a Lamonster belt dampener and putting it back together, I was ready to tackle the final install of my Russell Day Long seat. After about 10 minutes, I hung it up for another time. I've read about the hassle of getting the passenger seat installed and I was not successful :( . RDL sure didn't correct anything to make install easier. Any tips or tricks appreciated. I'll tackle it again tomorrow. Thanks

Good job, Troop... post some photos of your significantly increased bicep size after installing the rear seat.

Hopefully you will love it. It should be pretty comfortable from day 1, and verrrry comfortable after a few hundred miles.
Mine arrived the day before I headed off on a 4,000 km round trip... ”should I or shouldn’t I?” I did, and did not regret it for one minute of those 4000km.

I have a Russel on my KTM 1290 and love it! Did 450 miles last Friday and never felt the need to stand up at all.

Jay and the crew are awesome to deal with! Were lucky enough that they are 8 miles from our house, so we get ride in service.

If the wife doesn't end up with a Canyon, we will definitely have them build us one for the RT-L... even then, I'm sure that the Canyon seat will be horrible!!??

Betting you're gonna love it! I had RDL add 1" to the height of my seat when they built it, and (just for info), the heat works great too.

I'm thinking so too. I didn't request any extra height, but I think the general construction automatically does so. And, once I learned the technique, installing the passenger seat was pretty straight forward :)
They usually put some extra height in to ensure the correct knee angle twixt bum and ankle, Troop 👍 (twixt? I don’t have a clue what made that word pop into my head.)😆😆
My seat was quite a bit higher to assist with 37” inleg.
