• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 RTL Side Luggage Release Handle Broke - how hard to change one?

So I guess I ate my wheatys and I managed to tear the luggage handle off on the drivers left side luggage compartment.

It had a little resistance, so I stopped, jiggled the door a little and tried again and it just snapped.

That said, has anyone changed one of these before?

and if so, what is involved?

I am going to start tracking down parts shortly

I have to push on one side of mine to get it open. Dealer said no problem. I’ve tried to lube and adjust but still works hard.

So changed the handle assembly this past weekend.

For starters, you need to disassemble the whole rear of the machine!

I stopped at the point where I could squeeze my hand into the space with a T27 torque to get the handle off.

For clear access you would need to remove a ton of plastic on the frame under the seats and I just was not up for that.

The cause of the failure was what appears to be apple seeds. No other signs of animal life, but something decided to hide its treasures in the handle assembly.

Will blow that out after storage from now on!

Consider yourself lucky that BRP even sells the handle as a separate part ..... Mike
