• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 RTL Frunk Leaking

Anyone experiencing water leaking into the frunk? Mine had been parked outside and it rained, found that it leaked pretty bad. Is this expected, if not, I'll get it in for warranty repair.

Regardless of the year or model, the frunk isn't supposed to leak. Are you certain the neoprene seal around the frunk storage box liner is properly positioned and seated?

It looks like it's positioned correctly and doesn't seem loose.

If you didn’t have something over stuffed & in the way it should have been well sealed for rain & ya warranty item so they can check if fuse area is properly sealed:lecturef_smilie:

In the past, most leaking occurred because the TWO fuse box covers weren't on correctly .... also check the Battery cover for a good seal ..... good luck .... Mike

With my 2020 RT Limited I rode in a down poor that was the hardest rain I have ever seen, ended up on one city street with water deeper than my running boards and coming through he radiators on both sides, but not a drop in the frunk.

On the 2015 RT Limited, I had a water leak in the trunk that took them the longest time to find. They replaced the seal around the top, the seal, checked battery cover, fuse block covers, and finally tracked it down to the battery tender lead that the dealer had ran through the rubber plug into the frunk. Replaced the plug, moved the lead to come through the battery cover, and no leak after that.

especially the part about the battery cover. I haven't had the problem because of the fuse box covers, but did have a big problem with the battery cover. The last person (at a dealership) who had reinstalled the battery cover left about a 1/4" gap at the top. Every time it rained and the Spyder was outside, like at a motel or going down the road, the frunk would fill up with water running in from the windscreen and various other sloped parts above the frunk. Once I positioned the battery cover correctly which was about a five minute job, the problem was solved. You would think a trained technician would know how to install a battery cover properly when it only takes an untrained shade-tree guy five minutes to correct the error.
