• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am trying to hook up my Garmin to my RTL , and I am not having any luck with the wiring diagrams being too small and unreadable . Does any one have a suggestion as to where to hook up ? I thought of the driver hand heating circuit , as it doesn't get much use here in Florida , But I can't find what color it is . Any help appreciated .:clap:

You should be able to tap switched power from the fuse box.

I can't figure out how to get the fuse box out .:opps: All of the hookups are from the back of the fuse box and I think the # 8 fuse in the left box is unused but can' see how to get it out without tearing stuff up .

Factory connection

Under the side panel is a factory connection for the Garmin. See instructions/Brp.com
Pretty easy. I can’t recall which side, but the process is the same; wind deflector, mirror, 3 screws, pull panel. Then 2 screws, 1 pushpin, open saddlebag, remove 3 screws. Remove lower side panel. Connection is there.

Why buy an '18 if you're not going to use the built in capabilities? The new dash is very clear and you don't have to glance down to the handlebars to see it. I understand its different and requires learning how to use it but once you get it, it really cool. No dash clutter except for camera and maybe CB.

Not sure the 2018s have that connection any more.

Apart

Not had an 18 apart yet, but doubt they made a new wiring harness. These are the folks who left a battery compartment in the left saddlebag 4 years after they moved the battery to the other end of the bike!
Bob, yank the sidecovers off and take a look!
You can find switched power in the position light. Remove right headlight. The smaller of 2 connections powers a position light. Tap into that.
